Tudor Related Dreams.

Sorry if this has come up before, and its` bound to have done so. But I`ve just remembered this bizarre dream I had while out for the count this afternoon. I`m an IT tech support worker in reality, and have just been signed off sick for a week, so i`m pretty sure this has some bearing on the dream. But I dreamt I was teaching all six of Henry`s wives how to use computers. Naturally it was like teaching chimps to drive, Katherine of Aragon uninstalled the operating system by accident, Jane was trying to prise open the monitor to see how it worked and generally, all hell was breaking loose. I was panicking like crazy, and all the time Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howards heads kept wobbling ominously and I was trying to stop them falling off. There was no blood, or gore, I just had to reallign them. Has anyone else had any Tudor related dreams? I`m sorry for the randomness of this thread, but I rarely remember my own dreams, and even when I do, they`re usually pretty dull.

I had the strangest one the other night. I think it's because i spend most of my internet time on this site, it is consuming my life lol.Well i was Jane Seymour and i had just died. it was weird because even though i had died i was still there and people were talking to me and calling me your majesty and so forth. So instead of getting someone to arrange a marriage for him Henry was like "i'm not marrying a foreigner, i'll pick my own wife" and he saw Katherine Howard and then he came to me, asked me if he could marry her and i said "sure, whatever". So then he told everyone he was going to marry Katherine because i had died even though i was sat right next to him. Then i saw Katherine with some other man and i was thinking oh God better tell her what's going to happen to her if she keeps that up. She was horrible towards me and skipped off down the corridor with the man, i think it was Culpepper, and Henry came down the same corridor and i was going to distract him but thought she can take care of herself if she's going to act like a little cow and he found them. I just heard her screaming and then i woke up. Do you find this valuable? |

"LOL ... That sounds like fun! I wish I had such dreams."It was a wierd dream, it happened a few weeks ago now, while I was sick with flu and i`m sure the medication I was given contributed to the wierdness of the dream. It`s still vivid to me. I was panicking like craze, not knowing which way to turn as the women caused utter chaos! Do you find this valuable? |

Ha ha, yes, I have not had a Tudor-related dream (I seem to have remarkably dreamless nights), but one of my friends had an absolutely FANTASTIC Tudor dream that I wish I had had. Evidently, she was being chased down the hallways of Whitehall by Charles Brandon, and she saw me trying to break into Henry VIII's bedroom. She shrieked that we had to get out of there, and I evidently told her that I couldn't leave because this would be my only chance to get some Henry-related documents (I like this idea that if I went back in time, I would be trying to get all the dirt on Henry that I could :-D ). She said, "Hang the documents!" I told her to distract Brandon, and when she asked me how, I said suggestively, "I'm sure you'll think of something." I then slipped into the room, Brandon caught her, and she awoke just after he said, "What are you doing here." Why do I never get to have good dreams like this????? And speaking of dreams, Carole Levin has a great new book out called Dreaming the English Renaissance: Politics and Desire in Court and Culture." I have the book, and I listened to her give a great presentation on it. It was very interesting to read what people dreamed about during the Tudor-Stuart period. Do you find this valuable? |

It`s happened again! I was robbing banks with Henry VIII last night. I was using him as a decoy and holding up the staff while the managers were preoccupied with bowing and scraping to Henry. The last one was atleast relevant to life, but I`ve never robbed a bank, honest!

$80.00??? No, it shouldn't be that much! Maybe it was because I bought it from her at a conference, but I think I only paid somewhere around twenty dollars for it, if that. For, sure, if it is in that range, it is worth it. It not only goes into dreams, but into nightmares, premonitions, and visions as well, such as one where a lady dreamed that Anne Boleyn had come to warn her daughter about plots against her. Some have themes to the modern day, such as preachers dreaming that they had no clothes on while delivering a sermon (I've had this dream, too, I think it has happened to everyone who has to speak to crowds!). She also discusses views of what dreams meant (which were as varied then as they are today). My favorite story is of the sleeping preacher and James I and VI...you just have to read about him to see what I mean! More importantly, she brings all of these dreams together as a way to gain more insight into the concerns of the early modern world. Ah-ha! No, you can get it for $16.05 new at Amazon, and there are cheaper ones used. It was a very fun read, and thus a very fast one, too. http://www.amazon.com/Dreaming-English-Renaissance-Carole-Levin/dp/0230602614/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1263157507&sr=8-1 Do you find this valuable? |
