What did It Mean?
Nov 7 2009, 12:30 AM EST
It is something I am still trying to figure out the reason for it the symbolic meaning anything about it really! When Jane is dying in Episode 4 and Henry tells everyone to leave the room and as Mary goes to leave he reaches for her hand and shows a sign of true heartbreak and pain! It just puzzles me as to why or what it could have meant as it was historically said and written they did not really become truly close till he was near the end of his life when Catherine Parr brought him closer to his children just a random thought that I have had for awhile any thoughts Ladies would love to hear them!!!

I didn't read too much into it, and just took it as a father taking a bit of strength and support from his daughter in that desperate moment.

Mary was reconciled with her father by Jane Seymour, and things were a little awkward at first, afterall, Henry himself admitted "some of you (his councillors) would have me put this jewel to death". But Mary was a regular at court once Jane had brought them back together. Are you perhaps mistaking Mary for Elizabeth? KP brought Elizabeth back to court, and re-united Henry with all of his children. As for the scene in the show, it probably didn`t happen quite like that, but it could have. Mary was chief mourner, and firmly back in daddy`s favour. Do you find this valuable? |

Ok my mistake!!! I don't figure it did but like Conyle said is "took as a father taking a bit of strength and support from his daughter in a desperate moment." I do have to figure it also factored into that she was chief mourner and well let's just say that to loose a step-mother is one thing to loose your beloved wife is quite another!!!
