The first series had excellent music. I think it was quite accurate. BUT, who were the musicians and why are they not credited? Good dance music and lutenist.

The second series had VERY poor music. Oh dear, in fact... OH MY GOD !!!!!! Whoever was responsible should be sacked.

The third series again has quite good music (realised your mistake I guess) but let the musicians be credited for goodness sake !!!!

Trevor Morris i believe was the producer of the music, but i'm not certain who the musicians are!

Did you really prefer Season's 1 and 3 where the music was concerned, lol? I hated them and loved Season 2's music, whether it was accurate or not! Matter of preference i suppose, lol!

hi and welcome richardterencehaynes, as Reggie said, the music's composer is Trevor Morris and there is a page here on the wiki dedicated to the music : http://tudorswiki.sho.com/page/MUSIC+of+the+Tudors

I believe he does play some of the music himself and really is the creative force behind all 3 seasons, choosing what pieces go with what scenes. However, I am not convinced that it is accurate to the period in history and has a more celtic feel than olde english. He has also received some well deserved awards.

Who was the bearded lutenist in series 1? That wasn't Trevor Morris was it? Whoever it was seems to be actually playing the thing, although as I understand it they are using the wrong right hand technique: 'who cares' I guess.

Also, an apology, I have recently watched series 2 again and apart from what looked liked an increased reliance on extras faking it I didn't think it too bad this time, except for the stupid baroque violin and some Irish 'music'.

Previous remarks way too strong, apologies.

Faking it? David Alpay, who played the violinist (did that instrument even exist back then?) in season 2 can actually play the violin. If you check his bio on imdb it states it, it probably says it here too somewhere?

Though, i do know what you, the musicians that were playing behind him all the time did look as though they were faking it!

Btw, didn't find your comments too strong at all, lol!
