I think the "R" stands for "Regina" if it follows the name of a queen ("Rex" if it follows the name of a king)! :-) Do you find this valuable?

The R stands for Regina. Masterpiece Theater did the Six Wive of Henry VIII with british actor Keith Micthell back in the 70's and Glenda Jackson portrayed Elizabeth R in the Masterpiece series . That story line was shown right after the Henry VIII. Also Glenda Jackson was in the movie with Vanessa Redgrave in Mary Queen of Scots. That came out in the 70's. Do you find this valuable?
