Jun 24 2009, 10:31 AM EDT \| Post edited: Jun 25 2009, 7:44 AM EDT I just found several sites with this article: Meyers detained by airport police Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers was handcuffed and questioned after he allegedly, while drunk, challenged police to a fight in a French airport. Meyers, 31, is best known for his work on TV's "The Tudors," as well as in the movies "Match Point" and "August Rush." He has previously spent time in rehab to treat his addiction to alcohol and was arrested in 2007 for being drunk and disorderly in a Dublin airport. Those charges were subsequently dismissed. The Sun newspaper said Wednesday police at Charles DeGaulle in Paris handcuffed the actor after he allegedly boasted about how rich he is, tossed euros on the floor and told the officers: "You wanna hit me? Hit me!" Yes hun, what you read in the Sun you should always take with a VERY small grain of salt, it's completely raided with tabloid issues! As for Jonathan being in Ireland... he's only ever here while shooting the Tudors as he normally lives in England, so France? I honestly don't know what's up, unless i read it from a more reliable source THEN i am more likely to believe it, the only time i've BELIEVED Jonathan to have suffered where alcohol was an issue was when his mother passed, as a lot of the lads in my class saw him in the City Centre of Cork the night it happened, and he was a wreck, as could be expected... Jun 24 2009, 1:37 PM EDT This incident supposedly happened in April of this year.....he is filming the Tudors right now in Ireland so he isnt in Paris. Jun 24 2009, 3:54 PM EDT After reading this thread I went and did some searching... and although I don't usually believe these rumors, this one seems to be going pretty far. the JRM fansite posted an article from People Magazine, which can be found here: http://www.jrmfansite.org/2009/06/645 As for why he'd be in France I have no clue. I could only think it could be for either the Monte Carlo film awards, which he was nominated for, or for working on his "From Paris With Love" but I thought they'd finished filming it a while back... HistoryMiss	15. RE: JRM detained by airport police in Paris? Jun 24 2009, 10:09 PM EDT It is a shame really - i remember reading about the 2007 incident of him being arrested or detained. And now again. I suppose everyone has their vices - lets just hope that he can curb it. I thought that he had it under control after three stints in rehab, but i guess not. Its slightly ironic as well - i was just in Paris 2 weeks ago at the Charles De Gaulle airport terminal 2F - just my unfortunate luck that i was there one week before him! Damn! Mind you i probably would not have wanted to witness that incident. Lets hope that he can get himself straight. Post reply Do you find this valuable?

The 31-yer-old Tudors star was detained by French police this past Saturday after he allegedly assaulted an airport employee. The French press is reporting Meyers was drunk during the incident, and was placed in custody for several hours after he punched the employee. Apparently it all went down when an airport cafe bartender refused to sell a drink to Meyers, who already appeared drunk to him. That led to a shouting match between Meyers and the bar manager and when another employee tried to separate the two, Meyers punched him. Meyers will now need to return to France and appear in court this September for charges of "voluntary violence, contempt, issuing death threats and assault." Time to go back to rehab (again) and get some help! I really do hope he gets some help... I just wonder about season 4.... =\| Post reply Do you find this valuable?
