Catherine Parr? Anyone?

Who will portray Henry's sixth and final wife, the survivor Catherine Parr? Will she be involved at any point in the series with Thomas Seymour? Posed by SEVERAL wiki members. :-) Do you find this valuable?

I have absolutely no idea who is going to be playing Catherine Parr so I won't even venture a guess. However, I do think that she will be involved with Thomas Seymour. In fact, I think that Henry will probably first notice her when she is around Thomas Seymour at court. Do you find this valuable?

That's my guess too... Thomas Seymour will probably court her, but bang! here comes Henricus Rex! ^^
I'm affraid we won't hear of an actress name for her until several months though... The name of Tamzin Merchant came quite late during the shooting if I'm correct... about september or october...
Let's hope (since CP will probably have more episodes this season than KH last season) that we'll have a "face" to put on CP during the summer... ;)
Anyway, I'm really excited about her, can't wait to see what Hirst comes up with!

They will have to find a good british actress that can hold her own and same standard that Rice Meyers brings, because Cattherine Parr will be in season 4 alot.
Showing her views of protestant religion that nearly sent her the same way as Anne and K Howard will be the way, also the attraction she had to seymore at court will be shown untill Henrys eye landed on her and it had to wait or not if Hurst wants to spice it up and being the Tudors he will no doubt do this showing alot of ducking and diving between C Parr, and T Seymore.
A strong British actress such as (Polly Walker she was in drama Rome as Attica,) or Olivia Williams,(from the film to kill a king with Dugary Scott,) would be perfect for the role and they have done various period pieces before.
All in all though the storyline will show C Parr alot and do alot of Thomas Seymore shananigans.

I think it's lamentable they haven't selected a Catherine Parr actress yet. Maybe they haven't because the series is winding down and they don't have to struggle to hold an audience any more. As usual, she is relegated to the "older" last wife, when in fact she did some important and significant things in her short reign as Queen of England. I think they may allude to her attraction to Seymour, but who knows? With the amalgamation of characters, they may have Edward as the one chasing her. Her is certainly set up to play Casanova and to try to ratchet himself up the ladder as much as possible. I'll be looking forward to the announcement of Catherine Parr as soon as the news breaks.

She's a bit young. Catherine Parr was in her mid-thirties and had already been married twice when she married Henry. I don't think Kiera is nearly mature enough for the role. Do you find this valuable?

I would love to see Lucy Lawless play her. Lucy is beautiful, tall, has a mother like vibe about her and is a phenominal actress. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

Eergh, I can't think of this actresses name...she played MQOF SC in the Elizabeth movie. She has been around in 1,000 movies. Red hair. I think she would be too good, but also too expensive. Do you find this valuable?

Absolutely! Samantha Morton would be great! I just loved her in "The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling."

Thank you! I think she would be perfect - I have that movie...have you seen the one where she is a young mom just come to the USA from Ireland? She's been in quite a few and has a pretty good dramatic range. I bet she would charge a fortune, though. But she would be good as Parr. She does a good job showing conflicting emotions.

Polly Walker is too old to play Katherine Parr, IMHO, although she was great as Atia in Rome.

Olivia Williams would be an excellent choice.

My personal favorite would be Rebecca Hall; I think she could really do the role credit.

Samantha Morton would be quite a good choice; however (as you said) she would probably charge too much. She's a known film actress.

The name of the movie where she is the young mother from Ireland who comes to New York is 'In America.'

Guess who played her daughters?

Sarah Bolger and her little sister!!

This is the casting decision I'm most excited to find out about. I have no names to throw out there. However, I do think someone like Cate Blanchett or Nicole Kidman would be perfect. They both remind me of CP not only in looks, but in demeanor. Also, I definitely think they should make her romance with Thomas Seymour a major storyline in S4. There was plenty of romance, intrigue and deceit going on there! Do you find this valuable?

I adored Polly Walker from Rome. I thought she was exceptional as Atia. If they choose her that would be great, IMHO. 2  out of 3 found this valuable. Do you?

I never would have thought of Nicole Kidman, but I agree, she does look a bit like Catherine Parr.

I was thinking of Polly Walker too!

I'm not too keen on Joley Richardson to be truthful. She's too old, and whilst thats not a bad thing in itself it might cause problems. Ive seen JRM with his grey hair but he still looks quite young to me, compared to someone of her age. And then there's Thomas Seymour, he does look very young. She's going to look like a cradle snatcher. I would have actually have prefered an unknown actress like all the other wives. Oh well, nothing we can do about it now. I'm hoping that they will recast Tamzin Merchant more, terrible actress.

I don't agree that Tamzin Merchant is terrible. I think she has portrayed exactly what they wanted to come across. A silly, young thing who knows how to excite a man. Now I hope that they will do A LOT more with her character development in Season 4 so we can have some sympathy for her situation. Do you find this valuable?

I totally agree with you she is wrong for the part. They should have picked a younger actress. The producers produced a wonderful series in seasons 1 and 2 but season 3 they made alot of mistakes and I think season 4 will be a dud, AND I very dissappointed .
