80. RE: James and His Movies
May 26 2009, 8:46 PM EDT
ok so i was having a good laugh the other night while listening to some music on my ipod...and what should come up....the Sex Pistols...LOL...i laughed because it made me think of James saying he was a bit obsessed with them in his younger days and dressed in punk clothes and was well i guess a bit of a quazzi rebel. So it made me think (complete tangent) of how he dances...how does someone from a punk/rock background dance...are they head bangers or jiggers (bob around) or what...so i had a laugh imagining James' style of dancing...hahaha...(start thinking about it pervs...its hours of fun to be had...LOL)....anyway! now that ive set up that chain of thought...my discussion is.... "Has James ever danced in any of his movies or tv performances????? and i mean like normal stuff not 19th century grand ball dancing either... though that would be fun to see also. I havent had the priviledge of seeing all his work yet..so im wondering if there is one out there that i missed where he gets his groove on...so to speak.....any ideas gals?..... (I thought this convo might be a good change of pace and something to have a giggle about).... just imagining him dancing in a club to Beyonce or something has me in stitches....LOL. Good question Dani, good question. Uhmm... I do not know the answer, as I have not seen that many of his roles myself. It's hard for me to anyway because practically all his movies are "indie". LOL! James dancing.... I would PAY to see that! Then I would PAY to dance with him.... Uhmmm..... =D

I have a question....does anyone know if James Frain knows that he has such a devoted fan base here on this Wiki? I mean seriously, if he doesn't know, someone should let him know. I imagine he'd be a bit taken aback, and completely flattered.

LOL! Thanks, I think we're a pretty devoted great fan club! I think he would be a little scared... But he must know, we would never---do anything HORRIBLE to him.... =D I wonder if he does know? =|

"I think he'd be flattered and then perhaps a little scared..LOL...I'm on a forum for Tom Hollander also...and he knows about us..we send him a present for his birthday every year which we all participate in and create. He's always overwhelmed by that...and we are just as mad as us crommies are here. hmmm...makes me think...i wonder if James would find it funny. He seems like a laid back and genuine kind of guy...i think he'd get a kick out of us fangirlies (crommies we are much more than that though..lol) ... and the way we perv...ahaahhahahha... I don't know as much about the man as many of you, but if he's a 40something year old who has worked in indie films most of his career, I imagine he'd be delighted to learn that he has so many devoted fans for such a role. It's not like the Tudors set him up to be a sex symbol! Does he have a fan site? These days with the internet and Email, unless you want to contact someone like Brad Pitt, celebrities are much more accessible than they used to be.

Yeah he has a fansite, I'm sure that he knows about it and he also has a facebook fansite- which Dani and I are a part of! James does seem to be a nice guy, so I think he would laugh about what we say and do and he, I would think, like us. One can only hope! =D

The Yahoo club for JF is very active. they send him bithday and christmas cards most years and also a wedding congratulations card. As far as i know, i havent seen a reply from him yet..but he sure does know about the fans he has. Im guessing hes pretty chuffed when he gets a card with 20 women from around the world all saying they adore his work and send him good wishes. =P ... gosh i love how the internet can bring people together. Ive met some amazingly cool people on here and other forums and clubs. its great to speak with people who share your (infatuations)...lol...but its even better like you say that its possible to make contact with actors or whoever that are so far away. ..... actually i often wonder whether actors take a sneek peek at sites dedicated to them (like this one) when they need a little ego boost. its funny to think of. These days with the internet and Email, unless you want to contact someone like Brad Pitt, celebrities are much more accessible than they used to be. "James Frain has 3 glorious fan sites. One is About James Frain, and another is called James Frain Online. And, there is a nice Hungarian site called Meet James Frain. However, only About James Frain is updated regularly. It's a massive site full of wonders that are all Frain. He also has a nice informative fan group on Yahoo. jamesfrain@yahoogroups.com He is relatively unknown, but he has a pretty strong fan base and has been in a few main stream films, mostly indies and TV work, but he's got mainstream stuff too. Plus, he's got a big film coming out in November ("Everybody's Fine") and a major film coming out in 2011 (TR2N or "Tron 2.0"--the title's still up in the air). His role in the first film is small, and I don't know who he's playing in TR2N, but they should both get him more notice as they are major films. As for sending gifts and such, I wouldn't recommend it. On the Yahoo list we send him b'day and Christmas cards every year. But, we send them to his agent, 'cause we don't know his address. Lucky for him we don't, uh :) Anyway, we don't even know if he's ever gotten those cards. However, when he was on Broadway, we did send him a big bunch of flowers for opening night and we made a donation to an AIDS foundation in his name. When some of our group met him outside the theatre he thanked them for the flowers and the donation. He was very sweet and gracious and funny. Do you find this valuable? |

Also, and I hope this doesn't turn any new Frain fans away, he does NOT post on his fan sites or fan pages...unless he's doing it as someone else. LOL I imagine he might visit them with out our knowing. I would, if I were him. I'd be too curious not too. But, he doesn't chat with us online. He never has and probably never will. However, if you were to ever meet him in person, out and about, I'm certain he would sign an autograph, speak with you for a while, and let you take pics. He's very generous in that regard. I've NEVER read a bad James Frain encounter, and I've read quite a few. He's always very approachable and kind hearted. But, as for posting to fan groups...nope. He just doesn't do that.

Hey Teri! .... i wonder if he did get those cards?...hmmm....(maybe his agent just stores them all up...lol) thats so cool about the flowers and the donation, and even cooler that he thanked you for it!..the more i hear about his manner and interaction with people the more it makes me think of what an amazing person he is. I recently read the comment by a fellow actor on the James Frain facebook site, where this guy who was working with James on in plain sight said "After many years away from the craft I have begun again and James was so gracious and Kind to me on the set of IN PLAIN SIGHT. We worked well together and he had great input for me . I cant say enough about this man. My first to know him but I will not soon forget him!" how sweet it that!! Do you find this valuable? |

She's also been in a few dance videos. I believe hip hop. In an early interview James said his favorite music at that time (early 90s) was hip hop. I guess he's moved on from his earlier days as a punker. hehe So, I imagine he and the missus go to the hip hop or rap clubs. Yes, I do believe James is into that kinda thing. So, it would definitely be fun to see him get his groove on. Do you find this valuable? |
