I don't know if you've ever heard of it...it was on TV in the 90s. You were so young then, you probably never saw it of heard of it. The show was "Homicide: Life on the Street". I was a huge fan and they used to have yearly fan conventions in Baltimore. I loved the visit. We spent a lot of time at Fells Point. Then we spent a couple of days in NYC. I *loved* New York. I'm from Louisiana, and now live in Arkansas....so, Baltimore and, especially NYC were major culture shocks for me. But,I had a blast. Do you find this valuable? |

I love it there, but restaurants are insanely pricey! I love NYC too! I've drove through the city countless of times ( I have some family up there) but I've only once been IN the city once. I love NY! It is seriously one of the best places I have ever been! This summer, I May be going down to Louisiana! But it's a huge maybe... I am supposably going to be working... But I shall see... I don't believe I know "Homicide: Life on the Street"... I was more of a Rocco's Modern Life/ Doug kinda girl! Do you find this valuable? |

I just bought copies of 'The Front Line' and 'Reindeer Games' on ebay the other week. was glad RG only cost me $2 cos James is only in it for about 2 minutes. (but they are a lovely 2 minutes!). The front line is great!! I really enjoyed his perfomance in that. its something completely different to anything i've seen him do...( I havent seen Nothing Personal =( ... ) The scene in the van with James, the knitting needle and the apple was a little unusual....i'm glad *he* didnt actually do or have that done to him later in the film (although seeing James strapped naked to a chair does have its good points...if only!). =PWell overall im very happy with TFL. but not RG..but that was inevitable really.... Hey Cromwellian :) TFL is a really good film. My only disapointment was James really isn't in it eough. He is billed as one of the main stars...but wasn't in it as much as I would have thought. It was an impressive role, though, and he did amazing. Man he was pure evil in that, but even still, you could kinda see what drove the character. James said he saw Eddie as someone that was raised in violence and knew nothing else. So, that's how Eddie solved all his problems. That's how he lived his life. It was a family business...and in the blood. As for RG, it is an awful movie, so I'm glad JF's time in it was short...it was a bit more than 2 minutes, though. Maybe 10 :) Still, he did a great job and got to do a major 'suck face' with Charlize Theron. I have to admit, the end totally threw me for a loop. Here I was thinking Nick was a sweet guy. Woah, what a character change. The director of that film, the late John Frankenheimer, seemed to like JF as an actor and cast him in a supporting role in his HBO film "Path to War". James played Presidential aide and speech writer Dick Goodwin. The film was about the beginning involvement of America in the Vietnam war...and it's escalation under Pres. Lyndon B. Johnson. James did a great 'Haaarvard Yaaaard" accent. Before Frankenheimer's death, there was a wee rumor that he was about to make another major film and that James would be in it...but the project died with Frankenheimer. It's a pity RG was such a stinker, as Frankenheimer has an impressive resume and was a bit of a legend in film. Do you find this valuable? |

Oh, also, do try and get "Nothing Personal". James once said it was his favorite movie project. Plus, he's in it A LOT! He looks amazing...AMAZING. You get to see him shirtless. It also has an amazing cast: Maria Doyle Kennedy, Michael Gambon, Gerard McSorley, Ian Hart, John Lynch, and an adorable Jenny Courtney (I think that's the young actress' name). The film's not flawless. It's very dark and depressing. Well, it is dealing with 'The Irish Troubles" of the 70s, so it wouldn't, and really shouldn't, be anything but dark. I don't know, i just love that movie and it is literally the film that made me a Frain fan FOREVER. For most Frain fans, it was "Where the Heart Is" that got them. For me, it's NP all the way. Guess that says something about me :) Do you find this valuable? |

I have just dowloaded a screencap program so i have taken some happy snaps of JF in certain scenes. I was wondering if its ok to put them on the JF thread?? does anyone object? I'm a little crazy about screenscaps now that i know how and am endeavouring to find the best ones for each film of JF's.... its so much fun! Do you find this valuable? |

If you go to the top of the page, click on Photos, then on the far right there's a link called Create an Album. After that, it should take you through the process :) I'm sure we'd all love you to treat us to some lovely caps :) After you've made the album, I'll link it from Team Cromwell. I got a Google Alert today, and apparently James has a part in the new Disney film "Tron 2.0". I don't know who he'll be playing, and he's not on the cast list on the IMDb yet, but it's straight from the beautiful man's mouth that he will start work on the film very soon. He wasn't very forthcoming with the info but it sounds like it will be a bigger part than the one in "Everybody's Fine"...or at least that's what I'm hoping :) Bad thing is, according to the IMDb the film won't be released until 2011. DAMN! It's supposed to be loaded with special effects, and if you've ever seen the first "Tron' from back in 82, you'd know why. Anyway, the film is a sequael and is reported to have a 300 million dollar production budget. WOW!Here's what james had to say: -------------- SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW: "The Tudors" star James Frain says although he loves stepping in the shoes of King Henry VIII's advisor, Thomas Cromwell, on the Showtime series, he's excited about getting the opportunity to work on a project his kids can enjoy. "I'm about to go off to shoot this Disney movie 'Tron.' It's lots of effects and cool stuff like that, so I'm looking forward to that. The only thing is, I'm not allowed to really talk about it. They're all so super secretive now," he notes. "I also have a De Niro movie coming out, though I was only on it for a few days," he says of the movie "Everybody's Fine." "That was like working with the king. That's the real king ============ Link: http://www.creators.com/lifestylefeatures/hollywood-exclusive/brad-garrett-fingers-crossed-for-series-charity-tourney-who-da-thunk-neil-boyd-cites-simon-cowell-as.html Do you find this valuable? |

YAY!!! Thanks Teri! thats great news that he'll be in another film. (aww and one his kids can enjoy too... =D ) ....actually he hasnt been involved in too many over the years that are PG. hmmm..... anyway, YAY!!!!!! but looks like we may have to slug it out and wait for the next 2 years....and knowing my luck with Australian premiers i will be waiting 3 years. But cross fingers that by then i will be reviewing films for a higher up distribution source, and not just my uni magazine. lol. I'd do anything to get an advance screening of that! ...or any JF film for that matter...LOL.

"It's live action with real actors...not animated...at least not totally...think "Sin City"...as in most of the actors will be doing their work in front of a green screens. "Tron 2.0" (that title is subject to change) is a sequel to a film that came out in 1982. It was about a man that gets sucked into a computer and the game he developed. He's literally inside the computer as one of the characters of his game. I hope it's release date gets moved up. I mean it's filming right now...so how long does it take to put in all the special effects and CGI?. Do you find this valuable? |
