I am just going by the promos I have seen but she looks like she going to be really good as Jane Seymour they should have casted her to begin with. I mean liked Anita Briem but I think Annabelle Wallis is going to be much better

If there are only 8 eps and three wives are in this season, Annabelle can only be in about 3 or 4 eps. Do you find this valuable?

I think that too...Maybe that is the chance by the hands of Michael and Annabelle's acting to prove that Jane seymour wasn't just a pawn or stupid like people thinks...

Yeah, in all her interviews Annabelle talks very highly of Jane. I think (as Annabelle said) we'll see just how political Jane really was.

I liked Anita Briem, she played a very sweet, simple, stereotypical Jane, you know, the "frail doe" that Jane is usually depicted as. But this show is about bringing a historical imagination to The Tudor Dynasty, they go against what was but at the same time go with truth. I'm personally glad they are showing a Jane that is not usually portrayed, I think Anne Stallybrass(1970) was the last Jane who was portayed as doing something more than giving birth to Edward.

Although I'm outvoted, I really liked Anita and thought she looked ethereal. That 'coup de foudre' that happened between Henry and her as he approached their house was palpable. Annabelle will do fine, but Anita was special. What happened and why the substitution? Do you find this valuable?

I just read an interview online with Annabelle and she said that she auditioned for season 2, was picked and then they changed their minds and went with someone else (ie Anita) but was called a year later to play the part. Interesting stuff. Here is the link to the article:

So far, I really like Annabelle as Jane I've seen the first two episodes and can't wait to see the rest of the ones she is in.

Annabelle is gorgeous as Jane. I liked Anita, too, but already knew she wouldn't stay. So now when I watch season 2 and 3, I simply imagine that Anita is Jane as Henry saw her during their courtship - angelic, etheral and sweet - whereas Annabelle is a more down-to-Earth-version of Jane, a Jane Henry sees and loves without rose-coloured glasses. Wow, I hate to be critical, as I am sure that the new actress would have been fine if they had just started out with her, but since they have made a change it's impossible not to compare, and frankly I totally disagree.

I liked Anita Briem, she played Jane as she has always been described. It's that simple to me. And even more important is that she managed to rise above the awkwardness of the quick changeover from Anne to Jane, and still play the role in such a way as it was believeable that Henry and the world saw her as pure, gentle, and in many ways the opposite of seductress Anne. We need to be able to believe that Henry suddenly saw Jane as his savior -- the woman who could be essential to and responsible for his re-birth. I think that this was vital to the series, and much of the gentleness of Jane is totally lost in the new actresses cast, IMHO. I am not sure that I will be able to continue to be nearly as interested this season with this new Jane, quite frankly...

I agree the gentleness of Jane was lost. As much as I never cared for Jane Seymour, at least Anita Briem kept me interested on the show.

Annabelle Wallis fits the part aesthetically speaking (although not as well as Anita in my opinion), but from the two episodes I have seen her in, I do not think much of her acting ability at all. There is no chemistry with her and JRM. And her character on the show is way too sugary for my taste. I scoff every time she is on screen. I am impatient for the show to just be done with Jane.

I am so thankful for Ursula's character right now. She is the only female holding my interest.

I like Jane. She's not a world-class actress but she's doing a nice job. My teenage daughter watched the show with me and she commented on how kind she was and noted that there are so few people on the show to like. I'm very pleased that she will be in the show for at least a portion of 5 eps. This will give her personality time to grow on us and also there will be time to develop her relationship with Henry so we can more fully appreciate how the loss of her affects him.
