One of my favourite pieces of 'ghost' footage is the CCTV security piece from Hampton Court. It appeared in October 2003. Security people were aware of alarms going off near an exhibition hall, indicating that fire doors had been opened. But on investigation they found the doors closed. The cameras showed the heavy doors flying open but no-one there at first. Then, suddenly, the long-coated figure appeared and slammed the doors shut.
Apparently the same events occurred at around the same time - 1pm - the previous day, and occurred again the day after the footage, but the figure at the doorway was spotted only on this one occasion.
The footage itself is on youtube (of course!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sjzjyfPJqA
Because it is real CCTV, and endorsed by the Hampton Court people (see their website) it has a certain authenticity, don't you think? The figure seems to be in doubt about where to go, or how to proceed. Disorientated.

"If there are ghosts, I hope they are just a shadow or echo of what has been and the person's soul can rest in peace."
Hello All, I just decided to get on this thread today and check it out. I've read all the replies and I'd just like to add my 2 cents for what it's worth. Ghosts: Are the souls of people who have not crossed over, either because they do not want to or don't realize they're dead. Spirits: Are souls of people who have crossed over but come back to visit. Imprints: A place where a violent tragedy has occurred and left behind an image of what had happened that can still be seen or felt by people today. Many people mistake Imprints for Ghosts. At Gettysburg, people feel ghosts, but a lot of what they're seeing or feeling is an imprint of all the violence that took place there. I'm not saying there are no ghosts there, there are probably hundreds, but in actuality most people are feeling the Imprint made by the tragedy. Personally, I don't believe Anne 'walks'. I believe she crossed over as soon as she died.

Peace,
ETR

I'm not sure, I would like to think that it does, that Anne is still here with us, on earth. I do believe in ghosts, spirits ect..., but part of me thinks Annes ghost is just a ploy to make more money from tourists. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah, I've heard that too, so perhaps Annes ghost is still wandering the earth, as she certainly died under wrong circumstances. Do you find this valuable?

her father is also a ghost....as it is said....he can't rest because of what he had done to his children.....I don't pitty him...he deserves it...and he should be beheaded....But why did Henry let him live??

"Are there any books on Tudor ghost stories?"
Hello mrsgalloway,
I'm sure there are several books available on Tudor ghosts. Try googling it. I just did and I got your question from the wiki!! I didn't check all, I was too busy giggling over that, it's the first thing on the google list you see! LOLOL!! However, I did see Phillipa Gregory's name. It's a sad thought to think Anne still walks after 500 years. She was innocent of the crimes and even though she died a violent death, I sincerely believe she crossed over immediately. Not all who die violently or untimely become 'ghosts', tho it's sad to think that many people have done just that. As for her father, well, he wasn't much different than other men of that era. He just did what men did for fortune, throw their daughters in front of a Lord or King to get favor. The show portrayed him as a horrible person, even I was astounded at the scene where he walks away from Anne and never acknowledges her. Truth is, Anne never saw her family after she was arrested, except for her brother's execution. Whiltshire never went to the tower nor was he arrested. He was supposed to be one of the Lords in judgment at her trial, but was excused by Henry. We don't know how he treated his family on a personal level, whether he showed affection to his children or not. We can't judge an historical figure simply on what was written for this show. There are just too many historical liberties taken w/the script of The Tudors. But something struck me the other day when I was watching Season 2. (I haven't seen all of #3, only the first episode) Natalie Dormer would make a great Scarlett O'Hara if Gone With The Wind was ever remade. She looks very much like Vivien Leigh. And would also be a great cast if other Anne Boleyn movies were ever remade, like Anne of the 1000 Days.

Peace,
ETR

""Her ghost is said to draw up to the door of the stately home in a carriage pulled by headless horses and driven by a headless coachman."

Anne's father, Sir Thomas Boleyn, is also said to haunt Blickling Hall, a National Trust property. It is said that Anne appears on Christmas Eve to Hever castle... Then let me ask something: if they know when she appears, why don't they put (up) cameras??? Then there should be some evidence if her ghost exists."
They have gone ghost hunting at Hever. There were noises and cold spots, and a few of the people there thought something touched them. They were creeped out and frightened and DID NOT like the place after dark at all. I tried googling for videos online about Hever and got this page of video links: http://www.google.com/search?q=Hever%20castle%20hauntings&hl=en&safe=off&newwindow=1&output=search&tbs=vid:1&tbo=1

Happy hunting!

Hi BoleynGirl,

I saw that footage. It's not Michael, just someone walking by. He's not a ghost either, he crossed over, as did Anne when they died. I saw the Hever film and some others on utube. Very interesting! Check out England's Oldest Church when you get a chance. That was a good vid too.

Peace,
ETR

HI BG,

To tell the truth, that shadow did sort of look like Michael. There's another 'sighting' on Larry King's interview w/Jermaine. He 'appears' behind Jermaine near the house. It's pretty neat to look at. There's all kinds of ghost footage on Utube. The GhostHunters did video a lot of places in England and there's tons of interesting stuff to watch. The series they did of Hever is on the homepage of this thread and that's where I watched the episodes, but if you look at the side bar to the right , you'll see other places that these folks visited plus other stuff put up by other people. Fun to watch when you have time.

Peace,
ETR
