"Mainly in the Great Hall for various scenes. Parties, writing up tax scrolls (paper work, the general working day), meeting Anne of Cleves for the very first time (the family and crowd).Oh no FMFgirl can only have eyes for JRM...I shall take Cavill ;) THanks for more visuals for me. I should seriously go to confession. And thanks for giving us some insight to the tudors life on set Do you find this valuable? |

"Oh no FMFgirl can only have eyes for JRM...I shall take Cavill ;) THanks for more visuals for me."Actually to FMFJRMGRL, I saw Cavill walking along the beach walk in my town recently. He is a fairly big chap. I am 6ft1in, and I reckon he is taller. He is shaped like a rugby player (or american football player)." MMM SOUNDS GOOD TO ME! "Oh no FMFgirl can only have eyes for JRM...I shall take Cavill ;) THanks for more visuals for me. I should seriously go to confession." YES, VISUALS.... I LIKE BOTH TYPES.... OK, FUNROD, YOU CAN STILL HAVE CAVILL! Do you find this valuable? |

"Well it involves a lot of standing about watching a load of the filming crew changing about things and the director or executive producer talking to various other chaps and gals...but it was fun at times when we got to mime (or pretend to chat to each other). Sometimes some of us (crowd artistes) would play out little games with each other in order to have a good rhythm of our so-called conversation. Thanks redbairn for answering all my questions!!! Even though the days were very long, it must have been amazing to just be there to see how it all gets done. I wish you luck getting back on again next year! Thanks again! :) Do you find this valuable? |

I've worked twice with a film crew before this (which was also a great experience) due to my art background. But it was interesting to check it out from that p.o.v. Do you find this valuable? |

"Unfortunately I aint the one to have a quick chat with any of the main characters (dont have the guts!). But the actor who plays Thomas Crowell is a wired one (once was mimcking what the exe producer said to us: you arent paying him enough respect. you must give him more respect by bowing more... Cromwell (actor): (in a screeching womens voice, eventhough the exe producer wasnt a woman) Yes! you arent giving me enough respect! )Hi-- Thanks so much for sharing your experiences on the set. The actor who plays Thomas Cromwell is the excellent James Frain, and he's the reason I'm watching "The Tudors." It sounds (from other extras' accounts in the photo section here) like he did an amazing job in the scenes in which his character is executed, and this mimicky bit you posted about must have been pretty funny. Can you share any other moments on the set involving James Frain? Anything you remember about him would be appreciated! Thanks! Do you find this valuable? |

She was pretty excited to actually see him in person lol. Also my boyfirend was driving by christ church one day and saw filming going on outside, which im pretty sure was the tudors as ive heard they filmed some scenes there. Do you find this valuable? |

Do you know how much I do envy you, lucky Tudors extras and lucky Dubliners! I have been an extra once on a TV film and that's really an experience: it teaches you patience!Unfortunately for me, Dublin is quite far from where I live: S-W of France, gah! But I'm wondering if I couldn't make a quick fly to Dublin... I can dream right?! :P Do you find this valuable? |

I've been to Ireland too, with my parents, we've made a tour so we've seen quite a bit of the country! ;) Since then, I only wish to come back there, that would make a great occasion! ^^ Do you find this valuable? |

33. Extras Costume fitting season 4 (Part 1)

I got the call on wednesday, saying I had a job for season 4, so went in yesterday for my costume fitting. Male Courtier number 19. Keep an eye out for me, I'm the sexy one. hehe. Might be nice to tell people exactly what went on, as this is my first time being an extra and I would have liked to know beforehand. I was told to come in at 2.30 for my costume fitting. When I got there, one or two people were standing around outside chatting. We were all there for the tudors so just started talking about whether we'd done this kind of thing before or not and the nightmares we had the previous night about swanning about in black tights. :P Then the wardrobe ladies popped their heads out and started asking for people to fill different parts, They already had us sorted into whatever role we were going to play before we got there, like noblemen, or courtiers, or clerics, based on our appearance and height (at the open casting they took photos of everyone, so they must have matched them up to whatever role they thought best suited each person). I was called in when she asked for a courtier, first she put a jacket on me, a sort of gold lookin thing, floral type pattern, loadsa buttons, bit tight on the chest. :P Then pants, black, baggy ones, that only went down as far as my knees, then she pulled out a pair of the longest boots Ive ever worn. :p thigh high brown ones that the shorts tucked into, and then over the whole lot a long black cape. I was liking the cape, I figured it covered up the more 'fruity' parts of the costume. Then came the hat. Not the most flattering or stylish hat in the world, I doubt I need to describe it to you guys, you know the ones I'm talking about, they're all over the show. the round puffy ones. No feathers though, thank god. :) So that was my costume, then they sent me over to hair and makeup. The makeup lady took a minute or two telling me what to do and what they'd do... 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

34. Extras Costume fitting season 4 (Part 2)
Jun 5 2009, 8:19 AM EDT
contd'...I have a lot of facial piercings and both my ears are stretched, (I thought they wouldnt call me because of that. :P) so the makeup girl said she'd fill in the holes and to remind them during shooting that it needed to be done. I was also told to stay out of the sun and grow my beard. then she sent me next door to the hair stylist, I have really short hair, I usually shave bald, but had left it grow, as I had been too lazy to shave, she just shaved a bit from the back and around my sideburns and that was that. I went back over to the place they were doin wardrobe wheere they took a photo of me holding a sign with my part number on it. Then I changed back into my civvies and walked back into bray to get the dart home. Got home, ate some dinner, watched some tudors (I had never seen it before!), went to bed, slept. :P I know this is a very badly structured piece of writing but I'm not a writer, unfortunately, but I hope it helps other first time extras, and if you're an extra this year, get in touch with me! I'm the only one out of my friends who was called, so I'd like not to be going in on my own everyday. :P 4 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

Yey! Thx for your report Acidmoxy! And yes, please, please if you have the chance take and share some pics withus, poor non-Irish fans! ;)Boy, if I were in Ireland I would defnitely call you "set-pal", alas I'm far from Ireland!^^ It's such a great experience to be an extra on a show (especially the magnificent Tudors one!), like I may have said before I was one on a WW2 film that was shot near my hometown, here in France! I had like my grandma's clothes on me and those shoes were awful!!! But I had lot of fun and don't worry, people on sets, extras at least, are usually nice and it's easy to bond with people since you will probably have looooads of boredom times! ;) Have fun, we stay tunned on the "sexy" courtier! ;) Do you find this valuable? |

Great report acidmoxy and congrats on the getting the job! I have only been an extra on a hospital show once. I figure your experience with the Tudors will be much more interesting and exciting with all the costumes and stuff! But be prepared to stand around and be bored a lot, waiting is what you 'do' the most on film sets. :-)
