Katherine Howard

If she makes an appearance in Season 3, what actress do you believe might portray Katherine Howard? And if Thomas Howard is erased for good as a character, does this mean a more conniving Katherine Howard will be portrayed on the show? 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

OOOoooooooh! Good question SE! If Cznery does not return for the third season either he will be replaced as Howard OR your prediction of a more conniving Katherine Howard maybe shown...also perhaps her grandmother the duchess would be shown as more instrumental in her rise then just a background character / neglectful caregiver? A conniving Katherine would be something to see though...it would be like "the Revenge of the Boleyns!"

Augh! Forgot the grandmother. That would be an interesting twist, but if Thomas Howard does not return, it could be interesting to see a conniving Katherine. "Revenge of the Boleyns...." lol, too funny. Of course, it could always be Jane Boleyn doing the conniving, too, but who knows? It should be interesting to see how the show portrays her decision to help Katherine sneak around the King's back.

And shouldn't we be seeing Katherine Carey around that time, too (that is, historically)?

I wouldn't know of any young actress skilled enough to play a renissance teen turned queen, but I can tell you theirs no way they can make Katherine Howard be portrayed as conniving. I mean they can if they want totaly inaccuracy. Unlike the other queens who have multiple questions of their personalities, such as was Jane Seymour ever really plain? Was Ann of Cleves really ugly? Did she really now how to survive the wrath of King Henry VIII?? Or the really famous question and most debated one about Ann Boleyn. Was she nice or mean? Was she shrewd or cunning? Unlike those 5 women of King Henry's life,. Everyone....and I mean EVERYONE who knows the Tudors....are always going to now Katherine as a teenage girl who was not so bright and was leaded on and guided by her uncle Thomas Howard.Even people who write constantly inaccuracies about the Tudors, one things certain in all Tudor books...is that Katherine Howard....was not the brightest of the bunch. There is even talk now...that maybe Ann Boleyn had something to do in her succession to the throne...........but theres no way on Earth Katherine Howards life is going to take on a question of ...well what if she was really bright and knew what she was doing?? NO WAY

Since Katherine Howard was a lady in waiting to Anne of Clewes it's quite possible she'll be added late in season 3, after Jane Seymore dies. Then again they didn't show Jane Seymore while Katharine of Aragon was still at court, (Jane was a lady in waiting to KofA's last year at court.) But anyhow miss Howard is bound to show up sooner or later, I'm sure they'll find the perfect actress to play K. Howard, they have done quite good so far, Maria and Natalie's portrayals of the first two queens were stunning. It looks like Anita will give a an equally stunning performance too. Only know they must find a better actress then the one playing K Howard in the BBC series from 1970's, with 6 episodes, one for each queen.

Not having Thomas Howard to make Katherine Howard queen, will be wrong. As for having grandma help her be queen, would Henry 8, really have listened to any woman in these mathers? A conniving Katherine would just be pure fiction, imagine the least learned wife manipulating her way to be queen all alone? Bringing Henry Czerny back is the correct thing to do, unless he don't want to return. Then they should recast.

Catherine Carey, the maid of honour to both Anne of Clewes and Katherine Howard? Yes, we should see her there, at least in the background.

It would seem wise to torment us fans with a peak at Katerine Howard at the end of season 3. I would think that the casting folks would go with someone who has some acting chops but looks really youngt...like a Rose Bryne. Totally beautiful and sensual. Rose could do the beautiful-but-clueless thing pretty well. I also though about the actress from "Juno' but she looks a bit frumpy. They'd have to tart her up a bit.

Katherine Howard, was an innocent. Sexually she was hormonally sneaky but politically stupid. She didn't know a speck about politics. I've read "Henry was smitten" with her. Can't one imagine how that attention might go to the head of a pretty, naive and very carnal teenager, who was not exactly brought up with manners and discretion? I hope they show her surrounded by the powerful Howard clan. grasping to get back into the graces of Henry and how she is used as another pawn in the "let's get rich and powerful" scenario. Another sacrificial victim, like Anne Boleyn, but without the intelligence, elegance, mature passion. A child/woman with great sexual tension. Hopefully they won't show Henry bedding her, as by this time he is grotesque.

All the family and historical characters are pretty creepy but none is so interesting as Lady Jane Rochford. She finally gets her rewards. Always wondered why she helped Katherine Howard when it was so dangerous. It would work if they used Lady Rochford's hatred of the Howard/Boleyn clan as motivation. Surely, out here, all of you have some great ideas.

We should....except the writers wrote out both of Mary Boleyn's children with William Carey and revealed him as impotent in episode 2.3 when Mary was talking about her late husband with Mark Smeaton. So as far as this series is concerned Catherine was never born. Unless they decide to fudge the facts and have Mary's other children with her second husband William Stafford stand in for the two Carey children. Otherwise I don't think we'll see them in this series.

I just think that she will appear in season 4 , since Henry's fourth wife was Anne of Cleves . K. Howard was pretty , very young and naughty . The idealest actress for that role would be Lindsay Lohan ( just kidding , of course ) ! But what about Rachel Hurd-Wood ? 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

I stand corrected. I didn't remember that.

It's okay, it's hard to keep track of how the series creators many decisions to change history affect the story, sometimes in more ways than they realize I'm sure of it!

I think that Mia Kirshner would make a great Katherine Howard. I saw her in a movie with Heather Graham called Miss Conception. Her character in the film, like Katherine, is flirty and adventurous. As an actress she seems to enjoy playing provocative characters. Playing KH wouldn't be too far a stretch for her. Here is a link to a picture.
