Disney Cartoon starring Tudors

A clip from Disney's "Truth About Mother Goose". In this clip Henry VIII is shown in "Jack Horner" and Mary of Scots and Elizabeth I in "Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary"

It's a cute little cartoon that I thought I would share. http://www.aol.com/?src=aim

I have one 'Far Side" and one "Rubes" cartoon which I laminated and keep in one of my "Anne Boleyn" books. The Far Side one captioned "Henry VIII on the dating scene shows Henry leaving on a date with a young woman. Her parents stand watching from their thatched hut. The father is saying: "We want her in by midnight, understand? And by thunder, you better be married before you even think of cutting her head off!"
The "Rubes" cartoon is capitioned "Anne Boleyn's last purchase". Henry is in his armchair reading the newspaper. Anne says "How do you like my new hat, Henry?"
He replies, "Did you save the receipt?"
By the way, has anyone who has seem Walt Disney's "Sleeping Beauty" noticed that King Hubert, the father of Prince Phillip seems to be a cartoon version of the older, fatter Henry VIII? I suppose that was a conscious decision on the part of the cartoonists. It's interesting that Hubert , unlike Princess Aurora's father, King Stefan, has no Queen.

The cartoon is cute, lol. I've also heard that Mary Mary Quite Contrary was about Mary Tudor. Though it is a bit more dark according to this source, http://www.famousquotes.me.uk/nursery_rhymes/mary_mary_quite_contrary.htm

I've also heard that MQC was about Mary Tudor, and it makes sense since Mary I was "contrary" to the Protestant mood of England and she also loved lavish clothing and jewels like Mary Stuart. I've also heard that "maids" refer to nuns?

What we see as nursery rhymes, in many cases, are dark.
Don't have examples, but if anyone does it would be appreciated.

There used to be a really cute children's program called "Histeria!" that covered history (it was made by Warner Brother's, so it had that zany, Bugs Bunny/Animaniacs feel to it). One of the episodes was "The Terrible Tudors." It had a hillarious little song to remember the wives of Henry VIII. I know it is online somewhere because I have watched it before.

As for dark nursery rhymes, what about "RIng around the Rosie?" It was a rhyme about the plague.

"Ring around the Rosie" (this described the sores plague victims had)
"Pocket full of posie" (to try to cover up the smell of the dead and dying)
"Ashes, ashes" (of the dead)
"We all fall down!" (ding, dong, you're dead)

It's sung differently here in the UK and Ireland:

Ring a-ring o' roses, (rash)
A pocketful of posies. (Cover up smell of the dead)
a-tishoo!, a-tishoo! (Sneezing, i.e. you're ill)
We all fall down. (You die)

There is some debate as to whether the rhyme refers to the plague (or one of many plagues!)
