Anne's final hours

Hello one and all! Well, after just getting to watch the final ep on my DVR last night and about 10 minutes of balling...I am now analyzing the episode and one scene has me in a tizzy. The prayer that is being read to her by the priest when she is being cleansed and dressing the first time...I cannot find refference to it anywhere...I rememeber bits and pieces of it however...I do not recall from where it comes in the bible...can anyone point me to this passage or perhaps point to a website that has this. I am a historical re-enactor who portrays Anne, and would like to get this passage written out and framed with a photo of myself in one of my court gowns. Any help would be GREATLY appricated!! Thank you!!!!! 2  out of 2 found this valuable. Do you?

Hi LadyAnne-
It's from the King James version of the bible: Ecclesiastes 3, verses 1 to 8.
By the way, back in the 50's, Pete Seeger referenced this for a song that later became a mega hit in the 60's for the rock group The Byrds. The song is entitled "Turn, Turn, Turn". Hope this is helpful.
You play Anne? Tell me more; sounds so interesting!

Très Bien! Merci Beacoup!
I had no clue that Seeger used that...wow! Interesting! Yes yes...I portray anne...and I was so intrigued by Natalie because so many many people came to me asking me if I had a sister or a cousin on the TV show the tudors and I was like no, why?? Apparently we look very much alike! I'm flattered! She's goregous!!! But yes, I portray Anne, but not in a historically time moving sense...Haha...my Anne never ages...We are in 1528-1532, before she was queen but being sought after by Henry...however, I tend to venture in and out of the castle and wander and play with paytrons and other actors more than the actor that plays Henry. Its alot of fun! The costumes I put together are alot of work and require alot of research but it is all worth it. I love acting and love being able to give back to the community in a way that is entertaining and educational for kids! Its so fun to see what Showtime has done historically trying to recreate it...Its amazing to see the similarities. All my friends at our festival are like "did you see you last night!?" I just smile and take notes! She's a strong character to portray and I have difficulties doing so sometimes...but...she was an amazing woman overall...LOTS of fun!

There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven:

A time to give birth, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted.

A time to kill, and a time to heal; A time to tear down, and a time to build up.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourn, and a time to dance.

A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing.

A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep, and a time to throw away.

A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; A time to be silent, and a time to speak.

A time to love, and a time to hate; A time for war, and a time for peace.

[apart from the inevitablity of death in these words....is also the significance that the priest read these words from an english bible instead of latin. Anne being partially responsible for introducing the english bible to henry and of course being a help to the reformation movement]

It sounds like great fun. Where do you do this? The closest I have to that is The Renaissance Fair in Tuxedeo N.Y.
Have you ever been to tudorshoppe.com? They specialize in anything Tudor (costumes, jewelry, etc.

Holy macrel...So many questions, where to begin?? *smirk* I have been an actor for as long as I have been able to memorize lines. Perfoming in plays and musicals in my home town. I got in the Renaissance faires when I was 6...raised in the festival community and basically a "ren rat" so to speak. As I grew up, I became more interested in acting on that level, with such close interactions with paytrons that I started out as a wee lady of court, with a backstory and all...and developed myself from there. Historical Reenactors do such things like civil war reenactings (which I don't do)...Also are used for various extra roles like Pirates of the Carribean (My husband was in that as a pirate) Thats what he does...He's a pirate and does stunt shows and movie work when he's not home, taking care of his lady! Its a hobby! I make all my costumes by hand and machine...I have my own costuming business, so I pull mostly from historical portraits, not film for my gowns. Typically, a gown can cost in fabric alone anywhere from 200-250 NOT including labor or any additional embellisments like hand embroidery or adornments like pearls or sequins...and as for the 2 questions. In response to being beautiful...We are our own toughest critic...I do not find myself ugly but I would not say I am the greatest beauty either. I am simply me. My husband thinks I am beautiful...I his Anne, and he my Henry, with a pirate-y twist. My friends all say Natalie and I look so much alike its uncanny...and she's absolutely breathtaking, so I assume that perhaps I have a pretty face. I don't know...Im not trying to impress anyone. I'm only portraying Anne 3 or 4 months out of the year, I don't live as her in my real life. And as for my age...I am 23 years old. Hope I was able to answer all your questions! Take care and God Speed : )

I am personally out of Oklahoma and I travel all over the country to various events and festivals. I do it pretty much all year long, depending on the $$$ that we have! LOL its all out of pocket...Never made it up to NY yet. I travel mostley to TRF, Scarby, The Oklahoma Ren Festival, Kansas City...mostly regional work...I do plan on hitting Cali and Vegas in the next year or so. Tudorshoppe is good...but Museum Replica's is the offical reproducer of Tudors merchindise in lines of costumes...No where NEAR as detailed but they do a fabulous job! I've bought a couple of things from them. Try to stear away from purchasing costumes...just jewlery! Haha! AND SHOES! Never have enough of either!

It is from Ecclesiastes 3. Some sections are taken out, but for the most part it is word for word :) Do you find this valuable?
