Disapointed that the they are dragging the heeding of Anne Bitch B
May 7 2008, 2:45 PM EDT
When Moore and Fisher where killed the year where 1535 and thats true facts from history and it was the same in episode 5. Therefor I´m really disapointed and anoyed that they are dragging the heeding of the Anne Bitch Boleyn with not only one but two maybe 3 episodes when her heeding was, fact from the history, one year later 1536. In the first series things happend quick and quite fast but now things have changed and slowed down..........and I'm bothered with it. I really hope that things will move quicker like in series 1 and that they dont change the history to much. I cant wait untill
my countrywoman Anita Briem (Jane) brings her down. I didn't know that Elisabeth who ruled the golden years in England had such a bich for a mother !

I don't feel Anne was all that bad. History tends to potray her as a total shrew, but in many ways, she was a victim.
I suggest you read Eric Ives' book "The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn". It gives this much maligned person a more realistic, humane persona.
Jane Seymour has also been looked at as all innocence and light, but she did have a hidden agenda and was pushed by her powerful family just as Anne was. Don't forget, Jane married Henry immediately following Anne;'s execution. So much for innocence!

Yikes...LOL tell us how you REALLY feel. Actually several members were saying how they thought it was going too fast so I guess its just a matter of opinion. Some people though Elizabeth who `ruled the golden years`could be a bitch. It seems throughout history strong self-confident women have been called Bitches. Jane Seymour was more of a sneaking conniving woman who took advantage of a situation and her family helped to plot the murder of Anne.

Anita Briem is a real beauty ...somehow the pictures of the real Jane Seymour show a rather stiff plain woman but hey, this is TV. We like eye candy. LOL

Lettuce, I am reading my first book its called King H 8 and his court by Neville Williams. I think they are dragging the series b/c of the chemistry of the cast, and Natalie great performance on screen. A lot of perole are going to hate to see her go. She was 1 of the 6 wives w/ the most drama. I'm w/ you Jane is not innocent.

I think she also had one bitch of a father, but few people care to write books and discuss that.
It's always the mother's fault, right?
Another fact from history is that in order for a monarch / tyrant to stay in power they must execute lots of traitors. Elizabeth learned that from daddy and her siblings Edward and Mary.

Yeah, I like to call The Tudors, "the Zoolander version of the 16th century", where everybody is ridiculously good looking! :)

On every subject there are two sides.I guess you first need to define the word bitch to refer it to each individual. I think Anne Boleyn was a bitch because the way she became the new Queen, her unfairness towards Chatrine, Mary and others. She was selfish and thought only about herself. As a good queen you need to think about your people, be nice and truthful, she was not nice only deceitful and false. Elizabeth on the other hand, as far as I now, ruled the country well and acted truthful towards her people. Her decision to behead Mary Stuart is then a question to debeat.

I appreciate that everyone has their own pointof view but when it comes to history, a lot depends on how much knowledge you have about a certain character. Anne was in fact good to her people. She gave more to the poor than Katherine ever did and no heretics were burned during her short reign. She was not the one who pursued Henry...he pursued her despite the fact that she was already in love with another man (Henry Percy) who he had removed from court and married off quickly to someone else. All Anne`s possible suitors were scared off by Henry & Wolsey. And even though she held him off for several years, she finally gave in realising she would lose any influence in court if she didn`t.

Read Eric Ives book on Anne which doesn`t gloss over her faults but gives a more balanced view than other books. And check out this page on the wiki : http://tudorswiki.sho.com/page/Anne+Boleyn+-+Page+2

Life isnt all black or all white. Anne was put into a position and she had to deal with it. Henry was the one who decided to dump his first wife even before he decided on Anne being his next wife.

Well the show doesnt show that......
History isn't actually fallowed all the times in the Tudors. A fact is that in the shows she seems to be and actes like a bitch. I now Jane isn't inocent but Anne got what she deserved.
My opinion is based on how her character is played on the show. She got the same threatment as she showed Chatrine. What comes around goes around !

The only trouble is the show isn't 100% factual. Although it's really good.

Hever, that’s why my opinion is changing of Anne. As I am learning of the factual it doesn't seem she was that bad just her circumstances place her in the mist of a bad situation, and b/c of that maybe she fell guilty or prey to those. Who knows given the circumstances maybe she did the best she could do w/ her situation you know, but as far as the Ice Queen’s statement Anne’s character or shall I say the highlights of her on the series it tends to make me sick at times, but Natalie is a great actor.

Anne was one of the first historical people I ever read about, so I'm rather protective of her in a way. I like to stand up for her. Who can honestly say they wouldn't have become the Queen of England if they had the chance. I agree, Natalie is really good.

I am attracted to one in the powerful position, so I know I would have been at court with my gown on to show myself in front of the King. Why do I keep hearing her father "put yourself in the Kings way". Anyway, then again when I hear of his temper, and how he acts out I'd be like the King is crazy, and stay far from court.

I would never have guessed you liked Anne by your name, Hever, lol!

I'm a little protective of her, too, since she was Elizabeth's mother. :-D

"Question Semper E, the movie Elizabeth that is out, is that about Anne's daughter?"
Oh yes. It's pretty biased against Catholics, but it was written by the same guy who writes The Tudors. It's very good.
There's this one scene, after Elizabeth's army failed in a disasterous campaign against the Scots, and she's weeping out of frustration in front of the portrait of her father, Henry VIII and she says, "My father wouldn't have allowed this."
And then there's another time when her sister Mary is still queen and she berates Elizabeth saying, "I see nothing of the King in you, only that whore. You're mother. [Anne Boleyn]"

Elizabeth: The Golden Age, that just came out is about Anne's daughter. It's predecessor (from 1998? I can't remember), is titled Elizabeth. Elizabeth is about when she first takes the throne, and covers getting the throne from Mary, her relationship with Dudley (her one twu wuv, or at least how I like to think of him :-D), and becoming, more or less, Gloriana. Elizabeth: TGA, covers the Armada and Mary, Queen of Scots. I haven't seen Elizabeth: TGA yet b/c I'm afraid I will be disappointed (I'm afraid of how the Raleigh relationship will be covered), but I'm renting it at the end of the week! Fingers crossed.
