Ebay is the best place for a costume. I bought one last year for the Rennaissance Faire. When I wore it people at the fair were calling me Lady Anne. It was a Tudor costume and the fair is more Elizabethan but its the best costume I have ever bought.

thank you I look at ebay all the time. I was wondering if any of the actual dresses from the series have been reproduced for sale. They are so gorgeous, and I find the cinched waists, square cut revealing necklines and fabrics amazing. However, I would like to own a bit modern version I could really wear (I have no idea where) perhaps as a formal gown for a party

Gee Bob McPie, you've quite the repertoire. Way to contribute to the conversation!"Tudorcrazy & Eayala8", besides Ebay, most fabric stores do have patterns for "Medieval Dress" too. Going that way you can pick out your own fabrics. If you can't sew, there are probably seamtresses available in your area. There is also a lady on Ebay who sells everyday blouses, skirts & dresses with a Medieval flair. I look to see if I can still find her Ebay Shop and post the link here! ;) 3 out of 4 found this valuable. Do you? |

I found this link in regards to the costumes for this movie. Whoever comprised this list has done a really nice job. Here's the linky: http://www.costumersguide.com/cr_thetudors.shtml (Just copy & paste link into your browser). It seems as though some of these costumes have been used in previous Tudor offerings ie. Elizabeth I. 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I love the outfits of this period also. They're so glamorous! Along with the costumes, you might be interested in the jewelery of the period also. Here's some links: http://www.tudorjewels.com/ http://www.illusionjewels.com/renaissancejewelry.html 0 out of 1 found this valuable. Do you? |

Hello Ladies,This is a great thread! Perhaps one of you should make a page for Tudor costumes? I think other fans would love to see it and a page would be easier to access! 2 out of 3 found this valuable. Do you? |

Have you seen the show Style about the tudor clothes? It shows how to have some of the tudor styles today and how the Tudors still influences our style. I love wearing my Tudor Clothes, but, they were made for me. so be careful in buying something off of Ebay - because fitting is really important. I can tell you ...THERE IS NOTHING LIKE SILK - 1 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |

I know that in fashion, the way Anne Boleyn wore her hood, became fashionable to wear in England for over 60 years! I thought that was pretty interesting.

I love her hood, I will be playing her in the next ren fair, me an my friends are planning to play a queen or some important women, anyway I love the tudors and although the dresses are more elizabethan and jacobean and victorian then right tudor period.the show still rock and some of the dresses I do like, like the Queen's wardrobe when she attends the field of cloth of gold. you know if you dont wanna pay to much money because sometimes they can be expensive, depending on the quality you want, you can go to one of those places and tell them how to make them, where I live that is what I will do, take the suggestion to those places. just go to ebay first, dont go to amazon because it will probably be expensive, if you dont like the options then you can go to somebody who you know knows how to make those clothing and just give him or her instructions how you want them.. my favorite hood is french. one of my friend likes gabble, but I think it cover the ehad to much. 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I've ordered a reproduction gown from Tudor shoppe, and was very happy with my purchase! As for ACTUAL gowns from the series, I found one from "the Other Boleyn Girl", very goregous! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THE-OTHER-BOLEYN-GIRL-WOMENS-TUDOR-COSTUME_W0QQitemZ290212237706QQihZ019QQcategoryZ98722QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 2 out of 2 found this valuable. I have several Tudor style gowns spanning the period of Henry's youth to the end of Elizabeth's Reign. There are some in the French, Italian, Irish and English styles along with more casual clothing to high Court dresses. These have all been made to order and wuite beautiful. Funnily enough, my favorites are still some of my more beautiful chemises- those made of 100% silk with truly beautiful embroidery. I use my linen & cotton chemises constntly around the house as there really is nothing as comfortable.these gowns should be made for you, because fit is so verry important. Please remember that a Tudor corset is very different from corsets that you may be used to. They may be purchased on line, but please measure carefully! Good luck- I love the gowns and jewels that I have to go with them (especialy some of the girdles). The pins in the ruffs can be painful if you forget they are there. No wonder they had such perfect posture!!! Melanie 2 out of 2 found this valuable. Do you? |
