Well, he had to have something going for himself to be in good graces with Henry for so long.

I "Googled" him for you. Its an interesting read.

Can you see Charles and Henry together today - Absolutely - the bad boys - they would be on the Foot ball team...their parents covering up the statutory rape accusations...drinking...playing in a band somewhere..breaking things in a hotel...these boys was not the traditional William we see on the throne today. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. Bloody hell I hope so. I mean, considering the debauchery that went on during that time period, he'd have been a complete bore to not keep up with present company. I just wonder how many he and Henry shared. Do you find this valuable?

From what I've read he seems to have had quite a reputation at court.
Interesting fact: Brandon is the grandfather of the ill fated Lady Jane Grey.

Yes. Henry's daughter Elizabeth hated the Greys (after they attempted to overthrow her sister Mary and rob Elizabeth to her right to the succession). Althogh Mary was Henry VIII favorite sister and he preferred her descendents over his sister Margaret's in the line of succession, Elizabeth turned to Margaret's Stuart line even though James Was Mary Queen of Scots son. 1  out of 1 found this valuable. preferences were not always constant
that is why you couldn't trust kings
they changed to rapidly on who they trusted, one king entered and then another and suddenly the preferences changed.

Trust some body is always difficult, but i guess that being the king made it realy complicated. I can not blame their changing preferences, besides, if not, history would be so boring. Do you find this valuable?

Monarchs can't be trusted; I definitely agree. However, Henry did a lot for Charles, as a friend and brother-in-law. In history, the breach happened when Charles sided with Mary (his wife & the King's sister) over Anne Boleyn. It will be VERY interesting to see what happens in the series this season. Henry could not be trusted at all
I know monarchs sometiems were very disloyal but they're were some who did reward loyalty if it did something beneficial monetarily for them.
Henry did not know loyalty,he was easy to manipulate, me thinks.
and when he was not he got so frustrated that he send everybody to death, he was like a child.
Poor charles though, I wonder if he will die in season 2
they already killed margaret
wouldn't surprise me

I believe he died of natural causes, but it will be interesting to see how the series handles Brandon. He also had four wives and died relatively old for the time. The series does take some liberty with the truth. Do you find this valuable?
