David Starkey on "The Tudors"
Recently Starkey criticized the series at the Cheltenham literature Festival, saying it is "terrible history with no point, It's wrong for no purpose. I've got no problem with getting history wrong for a purpose - Shakespeare often got things wrong for a reason. But it's the randomised arrogance of ignorance of The Tudors. Shame on the BBC for producing it."
As the self-proclaimed "all-purpose media tart", you would think he would understand that the purpose was Entertainment. The creators never set out to make a historical documentary. ( Not to mention it wasnt even the BBC that produced it)

The tudors breaking stereotypes...
"I agree with the last 4, but I don't know that KofA has a reputation for being weak, does she? I thought she was almost universally thought of as a strong woman...perhaps to a fault. It is nice to see these people portrayed without resorting to stereotypes.
You've seen 2 eppies of S3? I've only seen one, where did you find the other?" i read some people calling her weak( i never would call her like that) but some people does.At least i think MDK's job in the tudors shown the opposite of this "weak" thing.

The Tudors, beyond Henry VIII. PLEASE READ !!!!!!!!
"Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS SHOW WITH Henry VIII! I just hope the producers continue the story of the Tudors dynasty, with Edward VI's short rule, Mary I, and Elizabeth I 's succssful rule. I feel now the show should show some scenes with all three children and their relationship with Henry VIII. JUST AN IDEA! I think these producers would do a wonderful job telling their stories!" Actually the Tudors creator & writer recently said : "Hirst thinks the story of Henry proper could be told in five seasons, but he's willing to plumb all branches of the family tree for stories. Says Hirst, "What I would like to do is go back to Henry VII, Henry VIII's father, and show how the dynasty was set up, because that's interesting, and then I'd kind of like to jump forward to his son Edward VI, with Seymour, as Lord Protector—and then Queen Mary, who tried to reintroduce Catholicism. Mary married the king of Spain, and then thought she was pregnant, but it was a tumor. And she nearly killed her own sister Elizabeth. That's an amazing period."
However, after this was reported, Showtime's President Greenblatt said that the series would only go to 4 seasons which would be two wives per season, sadly.
(you can check all this out at the page called "The Tudors in the media"
We did start a couple of pages though - one called "The Tudors Future Dream cast" and " Predictions" for a 5th season. There has been talk of the King having flash backs to his father, so who knows?

Tudor gardens
Yes, very disappointing - especially the KOA and AB gardens. To build a tacky piece of decking with a block and straw and things and call it the scaffold is ridiculous - as is the symbolism of witchcraft, one of the trumped up charges that were brought against Anne at the time of her tragic demise.
The English are great gardeners, but the Hampton Court Flower show has gone the way of Chelsea insofar as it has been hijacked by elitists and politically correct designers and journalists and turned into a media circus. The worst for me was the AB garden and the carrots. Why carrots? Well, because King Henry had red hair apparently. Duh!
