Did Crammer lie to Anne, and tell her if she sign the annulment papers , that she will sent to a convent in Antwerp ? or was Crammer lied to, and told that Anne would be sent to convent in Antwerp? Why Antwerp? Antwerp was the Emperor's territory, where William Tyndale, translator of the Bible, had been burned alive the year before Anne's fall. Why would anyone suggest Antwerp as a destination to her and why would she be comforted by it? Did Anne think that the Emperor had forgiven her, after all she did think that Spanish Ambassador was favoring her, when he bow to her in church.

I wonder where Thomas Cranmer is this season or if this is another character that the writers have decided to drop ala Thomas Howard?

Did anybody else think she was really under-used in Season 2? I thought she was awesome, and one of the reasons I'm really sad Cranmer apparently isn't coming back for S3 is that we won't see his missus again. Does history actually tell us about Cranmer having a feisty, outspoken, illegal wife-in-a-box?

I have wondered this since Cranmer first appeared in the series...why was he wearing an Orthodox cross in his first episode? Was there a purposeful reason for it or did someone in costume design make an uneducated mistake?

I was just watching a few episodes from the Second Season DVD set and I have to ask "What is with the wooden box and Cranmer's wife?". She arrives in England in a wooden box, and then she is at lunch with Cromwell and her husband, and when they leave, she goes into the box and Cranmer is in the carriage. What is up with that? I am sorry if this was discussed before, but I have missed it. Thanks. :)

as a former episcopanglican, i have loved cranmer forever--for the poetry of the Book of Common Prayer... even though the showtime series is often historically inaccurate, it is still a fine series. i love to make the connections between the English Church Reformation as based on money, power, sex, greed, divorce, remarriage, fertility, male power, female power etc with today's crisis within the Anglican Communion, where so many of the same issues are simmering and boiling. In that vein, I hope we get to see some of the GLBT stuff of all these folks, beyond the extraordinary Thomas Tallis, that is...
Cranmer's history of his "hidden" marriage is also fascinating. I just need to bitch a minute. We live in this hideous Banana Republic town of Evil Chiquita banana where there is sorry cable. We are showtime subscribers because there there are no restaurants, no shops, no bookstores, no libraries, no movies to rent..just dirt, constant noise, huge holes in the roads invested with Dengue and god knows what all. so of course our effin showtime has been out since last saturday. and of course we can't receive any of the free previews or youtube'd episodes because we are in this wretched place. i am just soo annoyed. even SurfTheChannel's Tudors site won't stream...
