When Katharine of Aragon (or Infanta Catalina of Aragon and Castile as I believe she was known then) came to England to marry Prince Arthur the people took to her almost instantly. Yet when Queen Mary I wanted to marry Charles V's son Prince Phillip everyone (despite the fact that most of them were Catholic's) in England hated him. He was Catholic so what was their problem??? After all Katharine of Aragon the Queen's own mother was Spainish and Catholic and they LOVED her so why did they object so strongly to Phillip???
