Hey everyone
Inspired by the threadjack to end all threadjacks, Team Cromwell has decided to attempt to harness the madness (a little) and cash in on the creativity/insanity of its members. The very basic score is that this will be a contributory story that imagines an alternative path to Cromwell’s unfortunate end, where he escapes the tender head-chopping mercies of his crazy King and heads off to a life of unknown adventures. Where will his new life take him? Who on earth will he meet? And will he ever find something to wear that isn’t black? YOU decide…muahaha. All Team members are encouraged to contribute their own parts to the story, and non-members are free to join in if they wish. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask. I suck at instructions, and this is probably as clear as mud :D I’ve written a seriously clunky introductory scene-setter, which is rubbish because I was scribbling it in-between trying to do coursework. The idea of starting this off in the Tower was donated by Reggie (and then stolen by me).

As I stated in another thread, I`m currently reading John Schofield`s biography of Thomas Cromwell, and have just finished reading about the fall of Anne Boleyn and her faction. I always assumed that the story about Smeaton`s torture with the knotted rope was true. Its` mentioned in several places, shown in just about every film adaptation of the period and really, took it at face value. However, according to the Schofield biography, the only evidence of this comes from the Spanish Chronicle, and isn`t mentioned anywhere else. The same Spanish Chronicle also claims Cromwell was pivotal in the downfall of Katherine Howard, that Anne of Cleves was Henry`s fifth wife and numerous other `howlers` (as Schofield calls them).
This is one of the key reasons why Cromwell has been portrayed as a blood stained monster for the last 500 years, and now it turns out it is almost certainly a fabrication. My mind is clean amazed, as Cranmer would say. I`m sorry for starting a seemingly pointless thread about this, but its` a very interesting point, and something that needs to be taken into consideration before the vilification of Cromwell is continued.

alright, if you don't know me, i'm cait! hello! after perusing some fanfiction and fan scripts on this site, i decided that i tend to be fairly gifted at writing, and i've a whole summer ahead of me, and why don't i try my hand at it? so, while watching the second season, i decided that something in the cromwell/anne scenes was a bit off...and i decided there was loads of sexual tension. this could just be me, but i think that's what this (currently imaginary) fanfic is going to turn into. comments, ideas? help! --cait

just picking up from what maggie and Reggie said in the eppy 4 thread what is going on with Cromwell this season? In previous seasons the writers have always shown a more human side to the character like the scene in the chapel before Anne's execution. After Aske's death the next scene is Cromwell writing a letter or diary not bothered really pleased that he's solved that 'problem' - no remorse. So far it seems all bad...

Ok...so while sitting in the library studying...I (as i so often do) have one of James' audiobooks playing. This time i opted for 'Man and Wife'. (which is outstanding work from James....and very easy for the James/Cromwell perv crowd to make inferences to link him to the character. LOL. While listening as i have many many times before...i was reading a thread on here which involved sexual links to james....LOL...and while reading, James (in Man and Wife) stated "BABY PULL MY LOVE PUMP, BABY PULL MY LOVE PUMP, BABY PULL MY LOVE PUMP.....BUT NOT SO HARD NEXT TIME" ahahahahahahahahahahah needless to say i lost it, laughing so hard, and hence felt compelled to start this thread to share in the JF perviness.
So.....feel free to make known any parts of JF audiobooks that do wonders for the imagination...LOL....btw...Man and Wife had many quotes along these lines...and having James whisper them in your ear is heavenly...LOL. If you havent heard this one yet..It is available on Itunes for download, as it Blood Hunt, (which is 6 hours of James being tough and yummy and doing countless accents).....delicious!

Thank you all who have said such respectful things about Thomas Cromwell. Even though many of you may not have liked him, but you've said things that are full of compassion for him and that's all anyone could ask. Also, thank you for being respectful towards us Crommies. It is a pretty bleak day, to say the least and although there have been people who have said some... heartless things, you have been nice. =D

*By the way Kate, LOVE the new song on here*
Ok, you guys know how Wolsey had a "theme song", for when he committed suicide... Do you think Cromwell will also when he get.. uhh.. beheaded? *cries and curls up into a little ball, slowly rocking back and forth* I'm hope so... Cromwell deserves his own theme song, I think.

I was reading some wonderfully recommended books, and it got me thinking. Are there any accounts from Cromwell’s wife. I think that an account of her side of the story (Fiction or True) would be very interesting. Does anyone know if such literature exists?

I was surprised to find very little documentation or accounts of Crom’s life and legacy (in comparison to others in Henry VIII’s life). Why do you suppose that is? I believe that Crom played one of the largest roles in Henry VIII’s life.

That after Cromwell was executed and his head was put on a pike and set on London Bridge, that after a while Gregory took it down and buried it? Like Margaret More did for her father, Sir Thomas More? There is no account as to what happen to Cromwell's head after it spent it's time on the London Bridge, and it was most likely thrown into the Thames. But I would like to think Gregory decided, enough was enough for his Father's head. So do you think that happen, or do you think that, just like other "traitors", that Cromwell's head and wonderful brains became fish food?

Ok.. In The First Ep. they obviously didn't show Cromwell's wife. I'm just wondering if they are going to bring her in at all? Cromwell was suppose to bring his wife and son to the King and he hasn't yet. Also, the Ep. where we see that woman wink/nods at Cromwell when Chapuys comes, how do we know that this is his wife? I mean, it's pretty certain it is her, BUT in the end credits, there was no actress named for Cromwell's wife. So I've been wondering about that. So the big question is, do you think the missus is going to be shown at all on the show? Because as you all know, she died in 1527 and she shouldn't be alive. Ok, this just popped into my head, maybe Cromwell has a mistress? Ok this is pretty far-fetched for Cromwell but I was just thinking...
