| Character's backstory: Historically, Margaret was King Henry VIII's elder sister, who became Queen of Scotland. However, on the show, the character combines Margaret Tudor's name with the actions (sort of *) of Henry's younger sister, Mary Tudor. * Mary married the King of France Louis XII, rather than the King of Portugal. He died -- naturally, not by murder at her hands -- within a few months, after which she married Charles Brandon.   Margaret Tudor & Mary Tudor The character in the series is an amalgam of both Margaret & Mary (Henry's two sisters) . It was Mary who married Charles Brandon after her first husband,the King Louis XII of France (not Portugal) had died.   Louis XII of France was 52 yrs old when he married Mary Tudor ( right) and she was 18 yrs old. Despite two previous marriages, the king had no living sons and sought to produce an heir; but Louis died on January 1, 1515 less than three months after he married Mary, reputedly worn out by his exertions in the bedchamber. Their union produced no children.   James IV of Scotland married Margaret Tudor (right) in 1503 when he was 30 and she was 14. He died at the Battle of Flodden in 1513. Their union produced 6 children. Mary Queen of Scots descended from this line.  Descendant of Margaret, the real Margaret, her grandaughter Mary, Queen of Scots, whose descendants inherit the English throne through her line. As this character is completely "made up" there is no reason to support it. Or to waste my time or my fellows fans here to look up for information.
Please consider reviewing it. The sooner the better. If not you wiil be mocked, and it would be a pity, the TV show is somehow based "on factual history" adhere to it or rather take the time to think about writing a screenplay of your "own". I know, I know, it more risky and difficult, well...life is not easy.!! With all due respect. |
