| Margaret - born November 28, 1489 - died October 18, 1541 Mary ---- born March 18, 1496 - died June 25, 1533 Character's backstory: Historically, Margaret was King Henry VIII's elder sister, who became Queen of Scotland. However, on the show, the character combines Margaret Tudor's name with the actions (sort of *) of Henry's younger sister, Mary Tudor. * Mary married the King of France Louis XII, not the King of Portugal. He died -- naturally, not by murder at her hands -- within a few months, after which she married Charles Brandon, 1st Duke of Suffolk. Gentility: Sister of King Henry VIII & daughter of Elizabeth of York and Henry Vll Position: Princess, Queen of Portugal (on the show, Queen of Scotland or France in reality) Personality type: Feisty Tudor Lass Signature look: Sultry Endearing trait(s): Determination Annoying trait(s): dual nature, whiny, spoilt Nickname(s): The Tudor Rose Burial: Margaret - the Carthusian Priory of St. John in Perth (which was demolished in 1559) Mary - St. Mary's Church in Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk

Does anyone know the motto's that Mary Tudor and Margaret Tudor had while Queen of France and Queen of Scotland? I haven't been able to find it anywhere and would really like to know. Also, did Arthur have a motto while Prince of Wales because Katherine of Aragon had 'Not For My Crown' while Princess of Wales so I presume Arthur must have had one as well? If anyone knows, it would be really appreciated

Who wrote this poem and is it published?:
Softly Love and to love softly Dew on a sycamore branch By the creaking gate And my heart hurries off To wince through the path of wheat Along the briar to that stone Under which I lie |

Can someone please explain to me, properly, why the producers didn't introduce both Mary and Margaret, and don't give me the pathetic excuse of 'they didn't want to confuse Mary, the King's sister, with Mary, the King's daughter' (if that's a legitimate excuse, then they wont introduce Anne of Cleves, incase of confusing her with Anne Boleyn, or Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr, incase of confusing them with Katherine of Aragon or with each other! i know their second names are different, but hardly anyone's second name is mentioned when addressed by their title). Does anyone agree that the show could have done with the support from both of Henry's sisters, 'cause let's face facts, their descendant are well known people, Mary Queen of Scots and Jane Grey for example!
Do you find this valuable?
