Nick Dunning on the Tudors, is the best Thomas Boleyn, hands down! I think he does a fabulous job creating such a dynamic character, but he's done the most historically accurate depiction of Sir Boleyn I've yet seen. Thomas Boleyn, was a sly, clever, creature of the court, a master diplomat, yes he had some terrible and morally reprehensible qualities to him (as was required of all courtiers!) but he also had some admirable ones as well. He valued his daughters' education, particularly Anne, and gave her the best education she could get at the court of Margaret of Austria and later under Queen Claude of France. I hated the depiction of Thomas Boleyn in TOBG, he was shown as spineless, weak compared to the Duke of Norfolk (he could actually hold his own to the duke), slow witted, scrawny (the real Sir Thomas jousted with Henry VIII in the tiltyard!), all around a general loser. I think it's true he held his personal ambitions as his primary concern in life, I believe he held true affection for his children and concern for their well-being, and only wanted for them to succeed in their careers as courtiers. Nick Dunning suits my impression of Thomas Boleyn perfectly!
