"OMG I laughed when I saw this question...I always say that one day you'll be able to ride your hoveround around Wal-Mart, eat until you are stuffed, and there will be holes you can just position yourself over in the aisles...there will be a Wal-Mart gynecologist and sleep pods, you can have your baby there, and finally the parking lot can have a tent city for everyone who has spent all of their money in the store. I know a lot of people love Wal-Mart, no offense, but it has put an awful lot of small businesses out. I went into Wal-Mart once and saw a woman in her 60's wearing her nightgown and slippers with hair in curlers making her adult son try on every pair of glasses in the optometry section. I thought, "what about a Wal-Mart cemetery and cremation center?" IMO/LOL

There is probably no boundaries when it comes to Walmart's reach. I'm sure if there is a way to get your money from birth to death, they will find a way. (Ican't say much because I am one of the lemings that frequent.

*And of course James is a major babe! (I have a bit to much of a Daddy complex to be able to get out of this addiction!)

""The Cardinal & The Secretary" was a rather dry book, imo. It has a lot of great info...but just not as fun a read as I thought it could have been. I'd love to read the book on Cromwell by John Schofield. What's the title? I guess I could look it up.

There is a new book coming out about Thomas Cromwell. It's by Hilary Mantel, and seems like it will be VERY good. Here's the url to an excerpt and brief biography of Cromwell.

I've never hated Cromwell. Inever really understood him. We never get much of the man, just that he's Henry's henchman, and 'go to' guy. But, who was Cromwell, really? It's interesting to get a peek behind the mask. And, that's what I think James Frain tries to give us...and he's done a brilliant job of it. "

The Schofield book is called The Rise and Fall of Thomas Cromwell: Henry VIII's Most Faithful Servant. It is a good book, not particularly inspired in its style but I've read far drier, and it's fascinating to be presented with a very alternative view of Henry's henchman. For example, who'd have thought that Cromwell was known as the 'widows' helper'? Judging from Schofield's fairly meticulous research, it would apear that Frain's portrayal of Cromwell is the most accurate yet. The book isn't a whitewash (and Cromwell doesn't deserve to be excused for his acts, as no one does), but it's a sympathetic and humane investigation into a man who is known very much by his deeds and not as a human being. It reminds me of Antonia Fraser's biography of Oliver Cromwell, since she set out to 'rescue' Cromwell the man from the common perception of him, and I still harbour a hope that one day she might turn her attention to Oliver's ancestor.

Have to keep an eye out for that Mantel book.

lol this is about james frian, LOL he was that guy in where the heart is, wow his american accent was fab
i enjoyed that movie, and loved his acting in elizabeth, hmm
