The Tudors, beyond Henry VIII. PLEASE READ !!!!!!!!
"Don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS SHOW WITH Henry VIII! I just hope the producers continue the story of the Tudors dynasty, with Edward VI's short rule, Mary I, and Elizabeth I 's succssful rule. I feel now the show should show some scenes with all three children and their relationship with Henry VIII. JUST AN IDEA! I think these producers would do a wonderful job telling their stories!" Actually the Tudors creator & writer recently said : "Hirst thinks the story of Henry proper could be told in five seasons, but he's willing to plumb all branches of the family tree for stories. Says Hirst, "What I would like to do is go back to Henry VII, Henry VIII's father, and show how the dynasty was set up, because that's interesting, and then I'd kind of like to jump forward to his son Edward VI, with Seymour, as Lord Protector—and then Queen Mary, who tried to reintroduce Catholicism. Mary married the king of Spain, and then thought she was pregnant, but it was a tumor. And she nearly killed her own sister Elizabeth. That's an amazing period."
However, after this was reported, Showtime's President Greenblatt said that the series would only go to 4 seasons which would be two wives per season, sadly.
(you can check all this out at the page called "The Tudors in the media"
We did start a couple of pages though - one called "The Tudors Future Dream cast" and " Predictions" for a 5th season. There has been talk of the King having flash backs to his father, so who knows?

Henry VIII's Obsession with a Male Heir
If Henry was so obsessed with getting a male heir, couldn't he have just said Bessie Blount's son was now in line to the throne? And what about Mary Boleyn's son Henry Carey, who many thought was Henry VIII's son? I know it was regarded as "treason", but if Henry was able to leave Rome and do all of that, couldn't he do that as well?

The Henry VIIIs in Our Own Lives
I don't suppose too many of us will come in close contact with a menacing figure who can have such a counfounding impact as Henry VIII. But in our own lives, I assume we all know or have known people who have license to mistreat people as they pleased, and few if anybody could or would do anything about it.
Happily now, in schools and workplaces, anti-bullying policies are being adopted, and guidelines are being set. Female bullying is being addressed in a way that it wasn't when I was in school, and while problems still exist, more and more, people are cracking down on such problems. Does anyone have any interesting stories to share on this topic?

Fat Henry
I've just added an alternate version of the famous Holbein portrait of King Henry with JRM's face to the King Henry VIII page one here. Have a peek at a gouty Rhys Meyers to satisfy the curiosity.
Methinks we shall not be seeing it on Showtime!

King Henry's affairs
"Did Henry have any affair with Mary Boleyn and she have a boy, did the boy die? Did all of this happen before Anne Boleyn's affair and becoming Queen? The daughter that Anne had was Elizabeth and I assume she became Queen Elizabeth and that Henery never had a son that live past infancy? " Yes he did have an affair with Mary Boleyn before Anne. She had two children but it is thought that her husband was their father although there has been some questions if they were Henry's. I doubt it personally because I am sure he would have acknowledged them somehow. Yes Elizabeth was Anne Boleyn's daughter and she did become Queen Elizabeth I after her siblings reigns. Henry did have a son, Edward ( from Jane Seymour) who survived and lived to be 16 yrs old. He was crowed at 10 yrs of age and reigned for 6 short years.
You can read more about each character in Wiki pages - "The Tudors Character". The King Henry VIII page shows all his affairs and wives. And Mary Boleyn has her own page. Cut and paste into your URL bar : http://tudorswiki.sho.com/page/Mary+Boleyn and you will see.

the wives of henry.... RIP
"Historically it is believed that he had syphillus and that he passed it to Katherine (Syphillus causes miscarriages). Katherive had many miscarriages and children that died shortly after birth. Why? Anne Bolelyn's first child, Elizabeth, was born healthy, but then she miscarried twice afterwards (she became infected). Of course the king could never blame himself for these tragedies, he always blamed the women. Jane Seymour died with childbirth, or shortly there after. Again, I believe that Henry infected Jane with syphillus. We know that Edward the VI died at age 15, before he died his hair and fingernails all fell out. Again symptoms of syphillus. The disease probably contributed to his increasingly despotic rule. " There is some debate about the charge that Henry had syphillus and it seems the doctors of the day didn't use the "known" medications (as was used on his counterpart Francis I). There is a pretty good article about the syphillus controvery here on the wiki : http://tudorswiki.sho.com/page/King+Henry+VIII+Controversies (cut and paste the URL if the link doesn't show up)

Will Henry's antics in the bedroom continue?
"Hi DLW11! Welcome back!" Thanks for welcoming me back, i will not post anything about tudor pages, they always change and people dont want open mindness but I also have faith in people lettice, thanks for welcoming me back you are proof of that. people are smart enough to know what they believe, if better black white or see people as people. anyway regarding the jane seymour, I think there is not going to be the passionate bestial sex as season 1 and 2. henry is getting fat, and well lets remember that jane is not only the antithesis of anne, but also of katherine who did not submit, anne did it in form of screaming and being very brave in her words to dare the King, but Katherine did it too just in ways were it was not by words but by humiliation so jane is the antithesis of the first two, because she is not as warrior and intelligent to humiliate henry or dare him like strong katherine or be very strong, and she is completely different from anne who did not submit and was very passionate and open to henry, jane was so different from anne. from these two, and not only that but jane 100% submitted and was more of a housewife queen than a queen who shared power.

Death Sentences in Henry's Era
Is there some definitive source for the guidelines used in deciding the method of execution for crimes in Henry's era or were they arbitrary?
For instance, why were Brereton and Smeaton drawn and quartered and the rest of the conspirators merely beheaded? Why was the cook who poisoned Bishop Fisher boiled in oil rather than burned at the stake or drawn and quartered or even just hanged until dead? Buckingham was granted a quick death and his conspiracy against Henry VIII was, in my opinion, much more serious in nature than Thomas Moore's. Yet Moore would have been drawn and quartered for his "crimes" had Henry not stepped in and altered the sentence.
How were these sentences decided??

Will or will not Henry be fat in Season 3?
I think the final scene in season 2 may have been a"tip off" as to his future corpulence. It also may have signified his indifference to the Swans as lifelong mates by having the female swan prepared as his meal which he then ate i a gluttonous manner; ergo he's going to get fat???? Who knows. These writers are taking a lot of historic liberties. Maybe they will make him buff to the end. BTW, Tudor/History fans. Check out Henry Percy in "The Other Boleyn Girl". He was the image of Henry VIII.
