The King's affections are shifting anyway: the Seymour family are awarded rooms at court and seem likely to replace the Boleyns as royal favourites. Several in the court begin to move against Anne who is accused of adultery. Arrests are made of suspected lovers and of Anne herself. All, including the Queen, are sentenced to death.

  • "Jane, for very good reason I want you to leave Whitehall with your father...I want to tell you, in this slippery world you represent to me all that is innocent. Everything that is good, unsullied, uncorrupted. It will not be for long. And after that, after that we can have our heart's desires."
  • Anne: "I mean you suppose if anything were to happen to the king then you would think to have me." Norris: "Madam, if ever I had such a thought then I wish my head were cut off." Anne: "Oh, that can be arranged!"
  • " Nan, get them to fetch Elizabeth to me tomorrow. I want to see my daughter. And Nan, if anything should happen to me, will you promise to care for her?"
  • You were no virgin when you married me! You were not what you seemed. Your father and your brother arranged everything."
  • "Whatever my sister has done is not with me or mine. I am innocent Mr. Cromwell. I swear to you; I swear on the blood of Christ."
  • "My lords before you go I beg you, to beseech the King's grace to be good to me."
  • "Sometimes Your Grace, in order to defeat evil you must learn to consort with the devil."
  • "The Queen was tried yesterday at Westminster Hall. She pleaded not guilty to all the charges against her, but the evidence against her was so overwhelming, she was sentenced to death either by burning or decapitation according to the King's pleasure."

I am just speechless at the events of Episode 9. I hate Jane Boleyn and her ilk. Why did she turn on Anne when she KNEW George had been sleeping with Mark? I know she didn't get the answer she wanted from Anne when she went to her with her problem with George, but to say they were incestuous?

Anne told her Henry sucked in bed, so it wasn't as though she dismissed her without thought and it was obvious she was preoccupied with her own woes. Jane is a whiner and a traitor. George's treatment of her had nothing to do with Anne.

I had read that Jane Seymour took great delight in taunting Anne with the locket from Henry. I was glad when Ane jerked it off her neck and wanted to "box Madge's ears" when she gave it back to her.

I can say I was quite pleased to see Thomas Boleyn arrested; what a jerk! Also, where is Anne's mother? I just read an article that states:

"It was an account on Anne Boleyn's early childhood. It stated that Anne's Mother Elizabeth Howard Boleyn gave birth to the three Boleyn children and died of a fever in 1512. I knew this was inaccurate as recent history has found that Anne's mother lived until 1538 when she probably died from grief over her children's deaths".

Did William Brereton say he was guilty of adultery with Anne to martyr himself? He hated her and tried to kill her and knowing he was already doomed, did he just seal her fate?

Henry is so cold! I saw his armour at Windsor a year or so ago and it was from when he was older. I've never seen "fat" armour before! My heart just breaks for Anne; knowing everyone around her is dying to make her death valid.

I've watched the episode 2 - 3 times (so sad btw), and still can't figure out what Thomas Boleyn is saying when he's being interrogated by Cromwell. He seems very disoriented and mutters something incoherent but impt. I can't figure out if Boleyn is being crazy on purpose (at that point ppl who pleaded insanity weren't executed) or has he really lost his mind? Would love to hear your thoughts / opinions!

Tudorgirl Poor Queen Anne (page: 1 2 3) 42 Jun 1 2008, 11:23 AM EDT by Holly2

I really do feel sorry for Anne and those who are accused of being her lover. They had nothing to do with Anne expect respect and love her as a queen should be loved. Henry only did that because of his deformed son and saying that the child was never his. He even call her a f**king bitch. What's even sad is that Anne has to watch the execution of her brother and the others that were accused with her of being her lover. Poor, poor Anne.
