| Marquess of Pembroke This title was created for Anne Boleyn, to make her the most important woman (of non-royal status) in England. The title was derived from that of the Earl of Pembroke, a title once held by Henry's Welsh great-uncle, Jasper Tudor. Technically Anne Boleyn held the masculine title of Marquess not Marchioness, the term was not used until centuries later.
