I've found this article saying that M. Hirst is going to adapt the novel by B. Cornwell into a movie...
http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118006050.html?categoryid=13&cs=1&nid=2562 I've not read the book but I thought it would be nice to share and keep our eyes open because of what I know of the battle of Agincourt it was kind of a though day for France... *sic* lol! Hirst being part of the project makes it quite interresting and promissing IMO! ;) Did you guys read the book?

I just found this article on the internet and it says that The Tudors will be filmed in Ireland for a fourth and final series. I am glad that they will do all the wives but I am upset that they won't go into Edward and Mary's reign. Maybe it is so they don't have to figure what to do with Lady Jane Grey. At least it will have ten episodes. Anway I have the link for the article below
http://www.rte.ie/arts/2009/0414/thetudors.html (Does anyone find it funny that they are still using photos from Season 1 promotional shoots. Not that I mind but it is funny)

Given the debates we've had over what some say is too much (plot-less) sex and creative license in The Tudors, do you think a historical epic would gain an audience (on Showtime or elsewhere) without these qualities? I'd be interested to know, for instance, how you think Elizabeth or Mary and their reigns would be portrayed since their "sex lives" are so ambiguous...and do you think the average viewer is willing or able to sit through a prolonged series without the soap opera element?

Just posted an interesting interview with Michael Hirst, creator & writer of the Tudors :
"Hirst thinks the story of Henry proper could be told in five seasons, but he's willing to plumb all branches of the family tree for stories. Says Hirst, "What I would like to do is go back to Henry VII, Henry VIII's father, and show how the dynasty was set up, because that's interesting, and then I'd kind of like to jump forward to his son Edward VI, with Seymour, as Lord Protector—and then Queen Mary, who tried to reintroduce Catholicism. Mary married the king of Spain, and then thought she was pregnant, but it was a tumor. And she nearly killed her own sister Elizabeth. That's an amazing period." How great would that be?

If you were a co-producer of The Tudors, what type of series would you be interested in producing once the show is finished?

There has been a lot said about the casting of this show but here we are going into our 3rd season of an award winning show. What casting choice do you think was the worst and the best?
For me, I have to say that although Gabrielle Anwar is a lovely actress, I really didn't buy her in her role of Princess Margaret...she was too tanned and at 38 ...really not a match for 25 yr old Henry Cavill. So she is my choice for Worst. For the Best, Jonathan Rhys Meyers and I have to say that in the beginming I really thought he wasn't right for the part but he has won me over with his larger than life portrayal through sheer screen presence. He has been criticized for overacting but Henry WAS melodramatic.... I think he has successfully made the part his own. (I didnt add the obvious ie. Jeremy Northam, Sam Neill, Peter O'toole, Maria Doyle Kennedy or James Frain but all really good casting choices.)
