She had Cranmer executed anyway because he was the one who sanctioned her mother's and father's divorce, which declared her a bastard. It was kind of like pay back.

I was just watching a programme called 'Desperate Romantics' and in it a Victorian woman was made to have a virginity test in order for her to annul her marriage. Was this practise of testing virginity (i think they check the hymen) not around in medieval/Tudor times? Or was it thought inappropriate or disrespetcful to do to royalty? I was just wondering because if they did this before Katherine married Henry it may have put an end once and for all to whether Katherine slept with Arthur or not. Though i am well aware that these tests are not always accurate.
