I think the actress did a fantastic job. She really made you feel like she was silly person who giggled all the time. You can identify her as an adultress. Bravo, fine job done.

Sir Thomas Cromwell's father is listed in several historical sources as being a drunkard and a blacksmith. This is a dangerous and violent combination. Imagine a young Thomas growing up in a household where savagery and numerous beatings took place and what their effect on him were! To not react, to not show emotion; these traits kept him alive. Especially since, unfortunately, Henry had some of those same violent, intemperate moments.

I have been trying to research what the French Ambassador's name is for a profile. It sounds like Castillan or something like that. The only french ambassadors I can find are Jean du Bellay and Marillac. Is it possible this is another fictional character? Anyone have any clue?

In series 2 Jane Seymour was played by Anita Briem , (I was blown away), and in the 3rd series its Annabelle Wallace. This was a huge change. Can anyone explain?

We were used to Anne...but I thinki that this season will be better for us because of the new cast will be more mysterious to us and we will be on the edge of our seat to see who is bad and good and who is naughty or nice.

If anyone is interested in Anne of Cleves,a book written by Margaret Campbell Barnes, titled "My Lady of Cleves", paperback printing 1972,can go to any online used book site such as ABE Books,or Biblio; while fictional, a romance with Hans Holbein(very unlikely),still interesting in portraying her character. It also brought in the young Tudors, and her relationship with them.

We saw quite a bit of primary and supporting characters exit out of the show in the final episodes. Besides Anne (because she's so obvious and the primary choice) who will be one who will be obviously absent and can affect the success of the third season?
I think it's a duo effect of Thomas Boleyn and George Boleyn. They were a heavy part of the drama of the show because they were with Anne in providing a massive amount of plot for the series. I think what can possibly help the third season is that the Seymours are a version of them. New faces. Same motives. The only thing is is that it runs the risk of seeming like a rehash despite the historical roots. I think Catherine of Aragon and Thomas More will be missed, but the show goes on. There just aren't many to 'love' in the third season.

What do you think could have been a meaningful (though brief) influence Anne Boyeln may have had on Elizabeth? Do you think Elizabeth remembered her mother at all? Were there any people around who told Elizabeth good things about her mother?

On November 17, 1558, 25-year-old Elizabeth received word of her ascension to the English throne, and uttered in Latin, "Is est Senior effectus, quod in est mirifice in nostrum oculos!"
-"This is the Lord's doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes!" Does anyone know how today's anniversary is being commemorated in England?

Years ago while in High School, I read a book with chapters devoted to each of Henry VIII's wives. It went as follows:
The Saint (Catherine of Aragon) The Egoist (Anne Boleyn) The Diplomat ( Jane Seymour) The Pragmatist ( Anne of Cleves) The Coquette ( Catherine Howard) The Mother (Catherine Parr) ( The last being a referral of Catherine Parr's mothering of Henry's children as well as of Lady Jane Grey). I'd thought of it while reading that earlier thread on a 1-word description of Henry's six queens. Any thoughts of these descriptions, folks?

do you think King Henry would've settled down with her once and for all, or do you think he would've got bored given a longer period of time with her?
