tudorcrazy book addition 5 Aug 6 2009, 4:21 PM EDT by MsSquirrly

once again I need Ms Squirrly to help me add this, as I couldn't place it at the end of the list. Can you rework my addition, as I just never seem to be able to do photos and words!
Also this thread will cost me a fortune. I own some of these books, but now I want to just go to Amazon, and buy all of the others. I have no money, at all, and a library of my own, so I must own them. Books are my most prized possessions. However, I am losing my house, and the library too, so I can't be naughty and buy anything, especially since my daughter just got engaged, and somehow we have to give her a wedding.

tudorcrazy Wheel of Fortune 0 Aug 3 2009, 4:45 AM EDT by tudorcrazy

this is an unusal pick as it is an adaptation of the story of the great love of Katherine synford and john of Gaunt. This book is the best book I ever read. This is how I got interested in Tudor history, however it takes place in the 19th century. I can't recommend it enough. Over 1100 pages, a five day read. Don't plan eating or sleeping, as you can not put it down. Go to Amazon for reviews,

5.0 out of 5 stars Continuation of Cashelmara with another family ..., August 7, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Wheel of Fortune (Mass Market Paperback)
I love English history and I love historical novels, so I adore Susan Howatch's books, and The Wheel of Fortune is my favorite. The only thing to add to the overwhelmingly positive reviews written before me is to answer the question in the first review: the book is a continuation of the story told in Cashelmara, recast with a different family. Cashelmara is based on the story of Edward I, Edward II, and Edward III, ending as Edward III overthrows his mother's lover and claims the throne as his own. The Wheel of Fortune picks up the same story about half way through Edward III's life (he is now Bobby Godwin), and follows the story through the life of his sons Edward The Black Prince (Robert), John (John of Gaunt) and Thomas (Thomas of Woodstock), his grandsons Kester (Richard II) and Harry (Henry IV), and his great grandson Henry V (Hal).
