Ambassador Mendoza (Iñigo López de Mendoza y Zúñiga)as played by Declan Conlon

born c.1476 - died June 9th, 1536
Character's backstory: He was a Castilian clergyman and diplomat in the service of Emperor Charles V. He went to England in 1526 & resided at King Henry VIII's court. Although on the way there he was arrested by Francis I of France and held for 4 months. Tensions grew between Henry & Charles and he was imprisoned February 10th, 1528. HIs health deteriorated and he asked to be recalled since the English did not seem to trust him and he was allowed to leave May 1529. Ambassador Chapuys succeeded him in his post.
