I forget to look at the profiles since i've been on so long, but on one of your posts to me you prompted me to look you up. You are a fascinating women, and we have so much in commen in our tastes. Mary Q is really how I got into this. I love her, but don't know why. I have a love for Wales, have been several times, but don't know why. I love Chants and monastic stuff, in fact I live across the street from the largest Catholic Seminaty in Phila.Dance was part of my life through college, and I was on point at 14. Wasn't any good and had terrible discipline, but I enjoy watching, and still use bar exercises to worl out. I too have a litttle dog named Sadie, and the picture of your site of Mary with Bess of Hardwicike,i s in my bathroom. I have read her biography and highly recommend it. She was one of the weathiest women in England and quite a intersting, as one of Mary's captors. My favorite author is Susan Hpwatch, and I HIGHLY reccomend her to you, as she writes the perfect gothic novels, but had a religious epithamy, and wrote 7 called her "Church Series" which people think are her best novels. AN ongoing debate amoung fans. She has not written a book for w hile since her St. Benits triliogy, which is about o healing center. You would love them, witty dialogue fast read, amazing characters. Anyway, she holds a chair at Cambridgem and I gather she lectures. Look her up on wikipedia, and then go to Amazon. You can get the older paperbacks for like $2, hardbacks, a bit more. Better yet, read them in hardbind from any library. They will have them all. she is famous.I see you embroider, and I was just thinking the other day how I would love to learn since Mary Q was so accomploshed, especially with all the anagrams and symbols she left us in her work, I am going through some tough times, which you wrote me about, but I think things will work out. I am impressed by your profile page, and have to spruce mine up, |

I'm so glad you enjoyed everything! I am not fascinating, I am tired, though ((: and will read about Howatch, but my God I have so many books (AND SO LITTLE TIME AS THE PROVERB GOES)...have you ever logged on to ABE.COM (American Book Exhange) you can get books for $1.00 plus s/h OMG I have gotten hundreds...well, after you get into spirituality big time, you don't read or write books for a while. It gets to you deep down and you look at everything from in there and hate to say it just want to be quiet and alone. Then you have to be like Dorothy Day and push yourself out (she also loved St. Therese and she lost her temper a lot like me but was much more faithful_.) Then you try to help people and they disgust you and you say, "God, I promised I'd do my mission, what's up with this???"THere is a grand book called "The Needlework of Mary Queen of Scots" (you can get it and a lot of obscure things on abe) hard cover ex-library ed., I look at it all of the time, it tells a lot about her captivity and she and Bess sewing along in spite of all of the intrigue. She actually embroidered a gown for Elizabeth as a gift and the _ _ _ _ __ wore it (i am having a hard time liking E). I think E was more jealous of Mary than politically worried, get into wiki arguments about it ha ha nobody loves Mary but me. Loved your e-mail. Let's go through our tough times knowing that faith is bigger than feelings or incense or anything like that. Faith is what I feel when I look at my dog or one of my favorite other things: Hey! THere is a God! Who else could come up with the coffee smell? Or, as a little kid said: Jesus is God with a face on. Once I embarassed everybody by thanking God for clumping cat litter. I mean, he did give scientists their minds, as well as all of the resources to make discoveries. And He absolutely knows why we get bitchy, etc. LOVE Karen |

You were the bright spot in my day. TY. I have hundreds of books too, but Susan Howatch will change your life. So much better than the tudors. "Wheel of Fortune" is my favorite novel," but "the Rich are Different "rivals it. And there are sequels! the Church series would speak to you though. Should be read in order. Basically the story of spiritually gifted clergymen that hit the skids, get sorted out, but can tend to abuse their gifts. Fab dialogue, very down to earth, but very spiritual. She is no lightweight. Cambridge chair in theology. and a woman!! You will love her characters, very funny, all true to history, and she can tell a story.Enough about SH. I spent the whole day with a painter (house), which is more money to sell the house of my dreams. I am trying to get work, but it's not easy. I'm overqualified at everything, and have no resume. But as you said God will guide me. Some elderly couple, who is connected to me through some tudor channel will need my services. I run a huge household, cook, garden, launder, entertain, read and drive. It will be a blessing for someone, hopefully all of us. Will the tudors ever be on?? I can't wait. I watch Big love, Dexter, trueblood, and us of tara. sorry, my t doesn't work on my keyboard. Spring is soon, and the earth will renew itself and us fertility Gods will spring forth. thank you again. Loved seeing your boys, men, I have some beautiful girls, but their a matched set! Oh, yes, I think E was jealous of Mary Q which was so dumb, as E was her superior intellectually, but not as beautiful. hany's how poor Mary gor into so much trouble, MEN. If she had never returned to Sctland and married Darnley she woukld have been fine. Eliz was a survivor, they shoul;d have met, and worked it out. I don't think Mary wanted to be Q of England, she just was told a lot of stuff by her manager's, and had no street smarts. |
