So, yes, I am a bit like Lizzy, in that I am always the same, lol! In a rare fif, I've changed my profile pic and don't know if I can stand it. I felt like I needed a change, but I feel almost desperate to get my old Lizzy pic back. Thoughts? This has been my favorite pic of Elizabeth so far, but I don't know...I also love the fact that she is being portrayed by a little Irish girl, which is something like poetic irony to me!

I feel...the picture doesn't have enough color in it, for one thing. Especially since when I post, my screen name appears as the same colour as her dress, and the gray background doesn't help, either. Help!!!! I really don't want to change it back...but I really want to change it back!

Haha, Semper, calm down!!! I love that pic of Lizzy, she looks so adorable... i did not know she was Irish until you just said it, and i repeated the name Kate Duggan in me head, DUGGAN!

Aww, thanks Reggie19! I thought little Kate as Lizzy was so cute, and such a good little actress! Actually, even hearing her name didn't tip me off that she was Irish, lol (although, it should have!), it was her voice when she cries out "Noooo, you can't make me!" when they are trying to make her put on part of her dress. If it wasn't for how sad that scene was, her saying that was quite hilarious. I bet in real life that Kate Duggan has quite a mind of her own!

The way she said 'can't' sounded English to me, have to watch that episode again! She'd have to be a good actress to put up with that dreadful scene between Anne and Henry when Anne is carrying her and begging her Henry for another chance, the poor child must have been very confused! I thought it was funny until i realized what the scene was about because Lizzy was quite taken to tantrums wasn't she? Especially when i think 'she knew that shawl didn't go with that dress', mother's fashion sense, makes me laugh that a three-year-old could know something like that!

I would have sworn she sounded Irish, but you would know better than me! Maybe reading so much Irish history has started to creep into my brain and I only think I'm hearing it, lol. Still, it would make since if she was Irish, because what with short scenes and production costs, it would seem better to get a little Irish girl to play Elizabeth. Which I still think is absolutely ironic and amusing if she is!

Her second name is a very common Irish name, so you could very much be right! And it would make it easier for filming if she was a young irish girl, especially when they were shooting in Wicklow, her parents would probably be nearby.

It is very ironic, the Irish HATED Elizabeth, but Kate is just too cute!!!

Yeah, they had a pretty good reason to hate her, too. It's part of my research at the moment to find out what she personally thought about the Irish and Ireland. There were lots of people involved in what happened in Ireland, and her own reactions seem to change over time. So its hard to figure out what she was really thinking. I've been reading a lot of Elizabethan era tracts about Ireland (mainly from New English authors), and it is some of the most depressing things I've ever read. And I thought what the Victorians were writing was awful!

I haven't had a chance to watch that episode again to listen her voice, have you? I'd like to have a daughter who looks and sounds just like her, which won't happen since I don't live in Ireland, and my husband has black hair, lol. I seriously doubt my blonde/brown hair will trump his black!
