---- Some stuff I'd like to share! ----
Being a huge History eater, I've started some months ago to read Les Rois Maudits written by Maurice Druon, a French author. It deals with the end of the Capetian dynasty whose last kings all died in a very short time. The last Templars were burned as heretics a few years before, cursing the actual King, Philip the Fair, and his offsprings, "unto the thirtenth genereration of their race". The Curse could be the cause of these deaths which left France with no direct heir. This would lead to a long, long war between France and England whose King, Edward III, claims right to the throne of his mother's familly, Isabella, the "She-Wolf of France"... It's a very intense story meddling actual facts and history and romance. It reminds me of the Tudors in many aspects: adultery, struggles for divorces, murders, plots... it's so fascinating that you can't put your book down! I know it has been translated in many languages, including English, under the name The Accursed Kings, though I don't know what the translation actually worth... There are 7 parts: - The Iron King- The Strangled Queen- The Poisonned Crown- The Royal Succession- The She-Wolf of France- The Lily and the Lion- When a King loses France Anyway I really really did enjoy the reading so I highly recommend it to you, History freaks! ;)
