Given his having burned six Lutherans as Chancellor of England, would Thomas More have been canonized today? Nearly 20 years ago, Isabela I of Spain ( the mother of Catherine of Aragon) was considered for sainthood because she led a respectable life. But this was challenged by Jews and Muslims whose forebears were killed by her and King Ferdinand during the Spanish Inquisition. Any thoughts on this?
