Elizabeth and Mary

I saw last nights show and was moved by Mary's actions with her little sister and her singing too her , I have read that she did love Elizabeth when she was a child and they where close. I must say that Mary showed a great deal of strength considering what she had to deal with. It showed a softer side to her and that was nice to see I hope as the show goes into the 3rd season to see how Mary acts with Elizabeth when they are both in the same boat. I agree with you. I have said on another thread that Episode 6 was not my favorite, but that scene where Mary picks up baby Elizabeth and sings to her was very poignant - as well as accurate. Mary had a very soft, gentle side, and even though Elizabeth was Anne Boleyn's daughter, Mary felt very sorry for Elizabeth and was very protective of Elizabeth for many years. Elizabeth likewise really took to Mary and enjoyed being with her. It really wasn't until Mary became Queen of England that terrible tension arose between the two sisters. However, despite the tension, Mary refused to alter the Act of Succession in such a way as to keep Elizabeth from becoming Queen. I know that Mary wanted to be buried with her mother, and that wish really should have been granted, but in many ways it is fitting that the two sisters are buried together in Westminster Abbey. Do you find this valuable?
